Perfect for sourdough starter
Bought this for my sourdough starter as my house stays a little chilly and it worked perfectly. Can set the temperature you need as well as a timer for auto shutoff

Great for bread making!
To be totally honest, you don’t have to have this for making bread. But man does it really simplify the dough rise and proofing process! Just set the temperature, put the dough in a container and drop it in the box and close it. Come back at the specified time and it’s done. I really like this for proofing where you put the dough in the baking pan, you’re going to use and with a large size you can put the entire pan in this proofing box.Like I said, you don’t need this to accomplish your bread rise process, but I’d really recommend it. It’s so nice.

Warms up quickly and accurately
ProsWarms up quickly.Wide temp range settings, from 30 degrees to 170 degrees. Can be set at one degree increments, and you can hold down the + or – buttons to speed quickly up or down. I tested and confirmed it warms accurately when set between 74 and 130 degrees. I also tested at 30 degrees and waited for about 30 minutes. The inside temp was still 70, which was the temp of my kitchen. Since there is no mention that it cools as well as heats, I assume this will simply keep the contents at room temp if the temp setting is set lower than room temp. Did not test other temps, but seems solid for higher temps.Time can be set up to 1.5 hours/90 minutes.Large compartment (I got the 13′ version) will hold the largest bowls I use for proofing dough.Collapses fully for easy, low profile storage. Doesn’t take up valuable counter space in my small kitchen when not in use.Material seems durable and good quality. Doesn’t feel ‘cheap’.ConsStrong chemical/plastic odor on arrival. After setting temp to 130 for a couple hours it has faded significantly but is still present. I am confident the odor will eventually disappear completely, but in the meantime, I will wait and use it. May bother those which chemical/odor sensitivities or those who are concerned about off-gassing.The temp/time control unit seems cheaply constructed. Buttons are a little loose and clunky. Not sure how it will hold up over time.Overall ImpressionThis is a good proofing box that will replace a larger, bulkier appliance I have had on my counter. Assuming the odor does fade completely, I really like the convenience and performance of this proofing box.

I love this proofer! It has a nice steady temperature. My dough rises even when my house is cold. I love the viewing window on top.

Smelly and the setting instructions are both missing information and incorrect
I tired using this box for several days before contacting the company. The “manual” which was a single 2″x3″ piece of paper was incorrect. It said that the “timer” is set to two bars for minutes and one bar for hours. It turns out that the information about the bars was reversed. I’m not sure how to get the bars to move from two to one unless it means functioning the control down 60 times to reach one hour. Regardless, the box also had an odor which transferred into my sourdough starter.

You have got to be kidding me/Molgayol Bread Dough Proofing Box
I have to start off by saying that never in a million, gazillion years would I spend $100 for this. When I ordered this, it was listed at $129. I thought that it was maybe a less expensive take on Brod & Taylor’s collapsible proofing box. It Is Not. It would be great if it was. I’m all for more budget-friendly versions of their more expensive counter-parts but this is not that. It is, essentially, a cooler that has been converted into an impromptu proofing container. Heating elements have been wrapped around the interior sides and covered with an additional layer of shiny, cooler material.Pricing aside, it does heat up and could be helpful in a pinch for dough proofing and keeping your sourdough starter at recommended temp especially if you have to deal with a cold kitchen in the winter time. I tested it out with my starter and the interior temp had the same reading as the adhesive thermometer on my starter’s jar. The remote offers the ability to set your desired temperature but there is just something about the whole setup that worries me. I will use it as needed for proofing (until I can get enough coins for an actual Brod & Taylor unit) but I will not leave it unattended while it’s in operation.
