My Favorite Coffeemaker
This is my third Bonavita 5-cup coffee maker. The first one lasted less than a year because I did not follow the instructions to descale it regularly. The second one was still working fine after eight years of daily use, but the carafe was beginning to leak, and it seemed to take longer to brew. Of all the machines on the market, this one seems to come closest to a true pour-over function, heating and spraying only a few ounces of water two or three times a minute. It even has an option to do a brief initial pour to trigger the “bloom” that brings out the flavor of newly roasted and freshly ground beans and then pausing before continuing the pour-over. It is also an ideal size for pour-over brewing, which works best with less than five cups.

Best full flavored coffee.
My husband bought this coffee maker about 10 years ago. We loved the coffee so much we took it on vacations with us. The coffee maker started leaking this year and I tried 2 different, cheaper coffee makers, before I went back to this tried and true. I’ll never go back.

Leaky Coffee Maker
This unit was bought to replace previous Bonavita that was taking forever to heat and pour the water on to the the coffee grounds. After a few days of use, we found puddle of water under carafe after each use. I am not certain what the mechanism of failure is. I will be returning this unit.We like this Bonavita coffee maker for multiple reasons: simple fuss free operation, maintains consistent water temperature, brews good coffee consistently. thermal carafe. Perfect size for 2 people drinking coffee. There are million options for people looking to buy 8-12c coffee maker.Cons: the thermal carafe is not easy to empty all the water by turning upside down. Some people have criticized, the lack of heating plate to maintain coffee temp. My personal preference is never to leave coffee on a heating plate of a coffee maker anything beyond 5-10 mins, it ruins the coffee flavor. For that reason, the thermal carafe does a good job of maintaining the temp. Yes, its true, it does not keep it hot for 2 hours. I would much prefer to brew another cup than drink 2 hour old coffee, sans flavor.

Good coffee, inconvenient lid
I bought this to get a better machine than my B&D. I believe it brews better coffee, probably because of better brewing temperature. The thermal carafe keeps coffee hot as desired. The lid must be on to pour without spilling. That’s a problem if you want to get coffee before it’s finished brewing. The lower profile works well for me. The Cuisinart i had was too tall to be practical on the countertop under the upper cabinets.

Won’t be disappointed!’
I was looking for a small drip coffee maker. Tried two other brands, both leaked, cheaply made and were messy- splashed coffee on the counter when brewing. Anyway, found about this brand when reading a review on another product! If you like simplicity which works great, without a grinder, I highly recommend this coffee maker. The stainless steel pot keeps the coffee warm, its easy to use and clean. I’ve never heard of this brand before and wanted to be free from Keurig and the wasteful cups. I love this coffee maker!

You get what you pay for (complementary)
I’d only used crappy drip coffee makers and fiddly manual devices like moka pots and French presses. This is the first drip machine I’ve ever owned that tastes as good as the manual devices. It is absolutely worth the money.

Disappointed
I’d been considering this coffee maker for years and finally bought it. It makes nice hot coffee, which is great, but has several fails. One is that the markings on the water container are very hard to see. Another is that the cord is shorter than I’m used to.I could live with those irritations, but what I fear is the fatal flaw is that the carafe doesn’t keep the coffee hot for any time at all. The carafe on the Zojirushi that this pot was supposed to replace does a much better job even though it is more than twice as large, meaning lots of air space for the amount of coffee I usually make. With this one, the second cup always has to be put in the microwave. So what’s the point of paying for the carafe? So disappointing.
