Restocking Fee
I received this item and, while it sounded great, it would not produce true 5.1 sound. The company took over one month to troubleshoot with me back and forth and came up with, “We can’t figure this out so just go ahead and request a return.” I did so, but because now the return window had expired, they charged a $30 restocking fee. NOT MY fault. Neither they nor Amazon would assist so I was left with having to process fraud/dispute resolution services with my bank. HORRIBLE customer service from both providers…and the chat functionality with Amazon – HORRIBLE. I was transferred at least seven times before, finally, someone just said…nope, you’re out of luck. Did I say HORRIBLE experience??

I would give it 10 stars if I could
This is exactly what we were looking for! Other speaker systems would only have the audio from the front speakers and the back speakers were passive so they would just make background noise. I know that is the point of those types of surround sound systems but after buying and returning 3 different systems we finally found this one. It is perfect! Its capable of bluetoothing our phones to it and can play music through the whole room. We live in a studio apartment so the cables for the speaker are long enough to be by the couch and the other speakers by the bed. It also came with an extension for one speaker, we only had to buy an adapter. And for a great price, we could not have asked for more! Definitely recommend!

Great for the price
The unit works very well and it is really loud if you want it to be loud in regular house room. It has so many inputs for different devices but the ones I use the most are the DVD 5.1 surround inputs that work very well if your DVD player OR Bluray player have the corresponding channel outputs. Many players do not have those individual channel outputs (Front Left-Center-Front Right) and (Rear Left-Rear Right) . The unit provides the Subwoofer. If your sound source device does not have these individual channel outputs it most likely has a Coaxial and/or a Toslink SPDIF output. In that case you can connect these outputs directly into the Bobtot amplifier Coaxial and Toslink inputs. HOWEVER…you will not get true 5.1 surround, even though it sounds decent. I know what 5.1 surround sounds like, besides, I had a 5.1 surround sound file run through and the Front,Center and Right channels bleed into the Surround channels and vice versa. Of course, I checked several times the speaker connections in the back pannel of the unit and everithing was OK. So, in a case like this I recommend using a Digital to Analog converter. It should be connected between your sound source device and the Bobtot Amplifier. Amazon sells some of these devices and are not very expensive (later I will post pictures of them). In my set up I have an old External 5.1 Surround Soundblaster Extigy Digital/Analog decoder, with its output channels connected to the Bobtot unit surround channel imputs. The Sound Blaster decoder has a coaxial sound imput and that is where I connect my Bluray Player. Trust me, using a Digital to Analogue decoder is the way to go IF you want true 5.1 Surround Sound.Besides all this, you can connect small devices like portable CD player MP3 player etc. using 3.5 mm stereo cables which are provided in the package. You can make them sound better by activating the 5.1 surround mode in the Bobtot unit. By the way, all the needed cables are supplied, except the ones I purchased to connect my DigitalAnalog decoder. Music sounds great through this unit and the basse sound is very thunderous. In fact, often I had to decrease the basse sound because it is very powerful. In summary, the Bobtot Home Theater System is a good alternative for adding surround sound to your movies and music if you are in a budget. Oh, I forgot…currently I am not using the speakers that came with the system except the center channel speaker. I am using my old and trusted Yamaha 140 watt speaker for the Left and Right front channels and two Sony speakers that were given to me for the Left and Right Surround channels.

I don’t know why other people are upset
It arrived as described with an extra remote even. Batteries are not included so I hope you get some AAA Batteries before it arrives (I used my old soundbars batteries) I’ve his no problems whatsoever like other reviews said. I do not like that there is not a HDMI OUT port from the PAit kinda doesn’t work with HDMI audio, so go optical, that cord is included even. All in all, not disappointed at all for the price!

Splitting Audio RTX3080TI HDMI (video), HDMI Audio does not work
Splitting Audio RTX3080TI HDMI (video), HDMI Audio does not work, 5.1 analog from PC does, but Sub/Center need to be connected to white RCA, I could not do this with cables included.I normally have an RX4080, with a VRROOM (high quality high cost), splitting a 4K120Hz to 2K60Hz for the audio, I wanted the same using a RTX3080TI, but to this unit, for family. I can split the audio, but I get nothing on HDMI, I then tried TOS, where I got only 2 channel, when using 5.1. in the end I went with analog 5.1 from the PC (not what I wanted, but works), however, the sub/center need to both connect to White RCA jack, so that was extra money, still it works with analog and 5.1 now. Speakers are fine, but no better than the Logitech G51 from 2000 (maybe worse) I’m replacing and with no HDMI, it was not a great deal overall, had the G51 not had a bad capacitor resulting in popping, it would have been better overall.Note: eARC was not tested as this is HDMI Audio, and I do not have an eArc source on an RTX.

Don’t waste your time!
800 Watts? No way!! 120v x1amp = 120 watts max and it does not come anywhere close to that! They claim complete control of the speakers and that’s NOT true, you can not turn the bass down enough so that is does not over power the others. (it goes to -10 and it still thumps!) And THE REMOTE IS GARBAGE! It is very light and obviously cheaply made, it failed after a few days use. I could not get support from Bobtot. Bottom line is it’s going back in the box and back for a refund. BTW if you look at how small the speaker wires are you realize that 800 watts would completely melt them!!. Don’t waste your money!

Seems well made and looks great
Great sound quality easy to hook up and all functions worked out of box. Speaker boxes are very well made (from what I can see, only wish is it would be easier to take apart (no screws) in case of having to get into speakers but very trivial). Give it A+ and recommend.
