Given as a gift.
Given as a gift, becuse I pirchased one for myself previously and it does a gtreat job. Works best when simmering something, but I’m most impressed with it when I make chicken and dumplings in a 6qt. cast iron Dutch oven. For the dumplings to cook properly the stew has to be boiling and the bottom can easily burn, but with this diffuser I do get some stew sticking to the bottom , but no burning!

Good kitchen accessory
Great product – eliminates hot spots in saucepans

Burns evenly!
The front, most used burner on the stove doesn’t burn evenly, and is too hot on low. This trivet evens out the heat, and cooks well.

Does a good job.
It does distribute the heat fairly well when you want to simmer but not boil the contents of a pot. Sometimes even at the lowest heat the liquid will still boil, but overall the diffuser does well.

Safe and reliable
Works exactly as intended. I wanted to protect my teapot and feel safe with extended use. Easy to clean and quite durable.

Still boils over a low gas flame
I don’t mind that it’s flimsy, and I even figured out that if you squeeze the handle rods together you can fold the handle over to store it (without bending or breaking the thing off as others report). But I still get a boil in my soups and stews even on low gas flame. So I guess I need something heavier or less heat-conductive.

good for finessing gas stove heat
If you have a gas stove, you may have trouble getting the temperature lower and more even- we put this under the pot: the heat is diffused and evened out, which gets us better cooking. The closest to a problem with this is that the hinge is slightly stiff, but even that wasn’t much of a problem.

This is the BEST for electric glass top stoves
I’ve tried those dual plated diffusers. They fall apart because of the heat. This gadget works like a charm! Keeps your food from burning, just be sure to use a heavy weight stainless or alum pan on top of it. No more scorched pans….GREAT!
