Works Great on my very old Kenmore
After reading a few reviews I was skeptical. But my parts were all intact and seemed fairly well built . However my heating element was partially sticking out of the box when it arrived but luckily nothing was broke, it’s not packaged with any kind of cushion.I tested the thermostat on a griddle on my stove and heard it open and close so I was relieved that was working after a review I read that said their thermostat didn’t work.Installed everything and before putting the back panel on , I have enough room behind my dryer where I could watch the heating element cycle on and off properly.So far it’s drying clothes and functioning excellent, just like it was new 30 years ago. .So simple to install on these old dryers, maybe 30 minutes start to finish and I’ve never done anything like this before .I will update if the product ever gives me any issues .

Lasted 4 months. Created a fire hazard.
This was working great until one day the heating element wouldn’t turn off when opening the dryer door. My wife often turns ‘off’ the dryer by just opening the door. Also, the timer wasnt advancing. We smelled smoke.After testing it I found the heating element was shorting against the housing. Took it out and found it had broken apart and loose ends were touching the housing.The price was great but this thing is a safety hazard.

my dryer is better than ever
got these parts to fix the decades-old dryer that came with my house (a dryer I once hated and have grown to love because I CAN FIX IT WHEN IT BREAKS). For reference, it’s a Kenmore 96274800. It had suddenly stopped heating, and honestly before that had always had the unsettling feature of never cooling down (so even though you’d set it for a certain cycle of heat drying followed by cool-down or air drying, it just kept toasting your clothes forever until you stopped it. Can’t really leave the house with that going on). Also, despite the “low heat” “no heat” “high heat” settings it offered, again, it actually only had one setting: HOT. Rather than buying the replacement parts one at a time and hoping each one would solve the problem as I installed it, I got this set and replaced all the related elements at once as long as I had the dryer panel off and my tools out. And all together this has made my dryer function like new, or at least as it’s intended to! So it’s no longer an egregious fire hazard and my clothes aren’t wearing thin as fast as they did in the incessant high heat. Perfect.

Absolutely fantastic heating element that quickly brought the 35 year old dryer back to life!We abuse our old washer and dryer quite a lot – the missus makes “wool dryer balls” and all the washing and drying to felt the wool takes a toll. Over the past few years I’ve replaced the washer tub seal and the dryer motor (and belts) to keep these old muscle machines going. I dread to think how long a newer pair of machines would work making dryer balls LOLWhen the heater went on the dryer, it took a while to figure out how to even get at the old heater element – but a very badly made old youtube video pointed me in the right direction (undo the top at the back and slide it forward to access the top of the heater housing, unscrew and then flip out the back to gain access).Once heater was installed everything was back to working order. Didn’t need the thermostats as old ones are working fine – so we’ll hang on to these just in case.In any case, great purchase if you’re handy with a screw/nut driver and not afraid of a bit of dust.
