BLACK+DECKER Crisp ‘N Bake Air Fry Toaster O

Works Well despite the complains I read here!
I see a lot of people complaining about this oven, saying it does not do as advertised or the manufacturers ‘lied’ about this or that… I have to question of those people are actually familiar with what a toaster oven is in the first place, it is in essence a ‘convection oven’. not a large kitchen oven, not a food crisper, not a microwave… a convection ‘oven’. It can only do what a convection oven can do, and within those limitations, it preforms wonderfully.Of course, it’s not going to air fry like a standard air fryer, of course it’s not going to work as good as your home’s full-size oven, and it’s not going to heat your mac and cheese like your microwave in 2 minutes. It’s not made to do those things like that, it’s like a jack of all, master of none. But what it does do, it does well, and within a reasonable time span.I’ve so far made breaded chicken with the air fryer feature, as well as the oven setting, I’ve made regular baked chicken, barbecue chicken, (I eat a lot of chicken) I’ve made a whole 12 in pizza, I’ve toasted toast, cooked hot dogs, etc… everything turned out good so long as I actually paid attention to what I’m doing and didn’t leave stuff unattended for an hour or more, which makes sense when cooking anyways.Don’t expect it to be able to do all of the things it lists with the quality of an appliance made to do just one thing, it’s not going to, and you will be disappointed, but if you want an oven that can do all these things at least reasonably provided you are willing to pay attention to what you cook? It will be a good reliable oven.

About the top and bottom elements coming on while baking, etc.
On bake the top heat source/element comes on a lot, something a regular oven doesn’t do (regular ovens get the heat from the bottom element). So, it’s suggested (somewhere out there) that when you bake that you place the pan or dish on the bottom (where i put it now) or second to bottom slot. I still keep a loose foil cover handy for if the tops get too brown. I just put that on top and it works out. Not used to using an oven this way, I bake with a lot of heavy bottomed pans (see below) so having the top element on so much doesn’t make sense to me. Don’t really enjoy it (lost a star).On broil, like usual, just the top element comes on.On air fry, both elements will come on.Also, to get to the setting where it’s on bake continuously (middle knob, first and far left), I had to use some force and upon looking into gap of the middle knob to the machine it looks cracked and weathered white. This is something the other knobs don’t have a problem with.Some likes:*It fits my cast iron pan with handle (longest part of skillet being 15.25″), as well as my 9X13 pyrex pan with handles (length with handles being a tad under 16.5″), so it’s a winner. Just need to get some full size cookie sheets without handles, because the one it comes with is very flimsy and small.*The auto shut off after the timer is over.*The superior temperature source is already considered when thinking of what temperature you would regularly cook your goods (they figured out the equivalent temperatures, so you can use it like a regular oven…supposedly).

I tend to like Black & Decker products so that is why I bought this toaster oven. It has an air fryer option but I have never used an air fryer before and did not buy it for that reason. I did try the air fryer option with french fries and it cooked them really well! The toaster works great. And using it as an oven is great too. It cooks everything well. I like the size as you can put more slices of bread at a time or have enough room for bagels and not crowd them. It came with the air fryer basket and another pan you can use. I found it to be a good value.

I absolutely love this toaster oven! Purchased it because our oven died and we weren’t sure what style of stove we were going to purchase. I had no idea there was a toaster oven out there that would hold a 9X13 pan! I’ve made casseroles and muffins with great results. The only time something didn’t turn out very well was when I didn’t preheat long enough. Lesson learned, the next time I baked a large casserole I waited and had no problem. The unit is much lower than others which is perfect if you have the extra molding on your cupboards to hide under counter lighting. It gets quite hot front and top but the sides stay much cooler, very helpful if you have lots of things on your counter because you don’t have a lot of space! Very pleased with this oven and am still using it to cook & bake with for smaller things. Fabulous to know I have such a wonderful back up to our new full size induction range!

Love this toaster oven. Has all the features I was looking for including Air fry. I have used this to bake, warm up items, air fry and toast. It’s easy to clean. I air fried some barbecue wings and they splattered everywhere, so once the oven cooled I took it apart and everything cleaned up nicely. The instructions were clear as I had a smaller toaster oven before this, so it was pretty easy to figure out. My husband and I use this toaster oven to cook a lot of our meals instead of our full size oven. It’s large, takes up a lot of counter space, but it’s well worth it.
