The best Earbuds for working out! Period!
Let me preface this review by saying I preordered these and have only had them for four days now. Typically I would wait longer to review a product, but saw the lousy reviews and felt compelled to tell a different story. I have no idea why these got 1 star. I know some technology has cult followings….an example might be Apple vs Android. I don’t know, I don’t get it.So you know where I’m coming from I used the Apple AirPod Pro v1 before upgrading to these new Powerbeats Pro 2s. The AirPod Pro v1s were good until they were not. I had them replaced under warranty once due to a crackling noise that seem to plague those. It came back and the warranty had long expired. So for me it was either simply upgrade to the AirPod Pro v2 or look elsewhere. I decided to look elsewhere and consulted a gym friend who had the Powerbeat Pro v1s. He raves about them. I started looking online and the timing was perfect! I saw that I could preorder the newer version. So I quickly pulled the trigger after doing some research. I saw the AirPod Pro v2 go on sale but that was not enough to entice me to stick with them.On a side note: My gym buddy also upgraded from the previous version and is happy with his purchase. One of the reasons I was ready to move away from the AirPod Pros was the fit. When working out they would always come loose and slip out. The Powerbeats seem to have addressed that problem with the ear loop and man, do they fit and feel great on the ear…..you don’t even know that you have them on.They sound great! They sound just as good or better than the AirPod Pros when they were working properly and this is no surprise as they are built on the same technology as the AirPod Pro 2s. The bottom line is they are both Apple products.I haven’t used all the features since they are so new. For example, the heart monitor is cool but I have an Apple Ultra Watch that I work out in that tracks my heart. As I understand it the watch takes precedence when you are wearing both.So again, this might be an early review but I felt compelled to share my positive experience. I’ll try to come back and update it as I continue to work out in them. If you are on the fence go check out some of the “professional” reviews from the various tech sights that review these products. They all give them pretty high marks.Fit and feel = A++Sound Quality = A+Battery life = A+*I do not do reviews for a living and I paid full price for the earbuds.

Sound is awful. Returned immediately!
Pure and simple the sound is total crap. My wife and I are huge fans of the Power beats pro. Between the two of us, we have bought 3 sets. My wife’s was in need of a new set, so when we saw MKBHD put out a glowing review, we bought them immediately. Needless to say, I feel lied to. They are more comfortable and do feel lighter, but the sound is total crap compared to the old Power Beat Pro. Seriously night and day difference. There is simply NO BASS. And when you turn up the volume to finally get to the bass, the highs blow your ears out. Sadly there is no adjustment for this in the Beats App.Things we tried before returning. We did a back to back comparison of the same song with my old power beats pro headphones and it was very clear that my old power beats pro sounded MUCH better. We adjusted the ear tips to make sure the fit was right. We paired my old power beats pro to her phone to make sure it wasn’t a phone issue. These headphones just sound like crap! They are more comfortable than the old ones. and the smaller case was nice, but for the love of god, APPLE, can you make a case that you can open with one hand! What is up with these super smooth cases? Sure the look cool, but…In short, they just sound like crap, which is the most important thing they need to crush.

Disappointing Audio Quality for $250, Hoping for an Update/Fix
I was hoping the audiophiles were just being skeptical, but sadly and surprisingly I was let down on my first couple songs.I’ve used Powerbeats Pros for years and somehow the Powerbeats Pro 2 sound a little worse? I’m hoping it’s something they can fix in an update. I would return these but my original Powerbeats Pro has an old battery/odd connection issues. I’d go to higher audio quality ear bud but the signature earloops are so perfect for my ears and keep them in place. The audio sounds so…ringy with mids and highs. I’ll hold out hoping they fix or improve the audio in an update but 3 stars is very generous considering these are $250 buds.

You have to try a range of the silicone tips to get a good fit. Use the Apple Ear Tip Fit Test (go in via Bluetooth and scroll down to find the test) to see which size is best and to make sure the silicone tips are inserted properly. Makes a huge difference! My ears are small and so I tried the earbuds that came with and the two smallest sizes. The sound was tinny and I was about to return them with much disappointment. In desperation, on my treadmill, watching a show with scratchy sound, I put in the large silicone tips and yes, just yes. The sound is very good. The Apple Ear Tip Fit Test verified that this is the best size for me to get a good seal. And as I de-layer during workouts, they stay in my ears! Winter hats are another one where an AirPod will get stuck in my hair or fall on the ground. These are perfect.

If there was an option for 0 stars I would give it. I do not know what apple/beats were thinking releasing these but the sound is flat, had no bass. This is considering all the ear tips were checked and fit tests completed (all were good seals). Overall just an underwhelming product and horrible sound. The ANC is not good, when used during a run, I could hear my own steps and cars going by. For almost $400CAD I had to laugh when returning these. My soundpeats Q30 sound 10x better for me. Could be my ear’s physiology but not for me.

I recently returned apple ear pods as I found them extremely uncomfortable. I’ve had the beats headset style for years and love so thought id try the new Pro 2 version as I wanted something smaller for travel. First of all, I cannot say enough about this amazing orange color, it’s so nice. They come with 5 tips and the small option fits great so far. I’m not getting discomfort or the feeling that something foreign is in my ear. Sound is what you’d expect from beats- great base. The one thing with beats (both mine are the noise cancelling) I find people around you can hear the music. I also find the buttons much easier to use compared to the apple pods. I would suggesting playing around with the tips for the right fit, you won’t get noise cancelling without a good fit, I see some negative reviews on this and is was my initial thought too but then changed the tips and much better. My SO is a tech guy and he is really impressed with the quality. This is my first day with them and I know they were just released. Will update my review after more use. Although they are expensive, so far I’m much happier with these than the apples ones I had purchased and would recommend.

I really should give it a 1 star, the reason for the 2 star the earbuds fit perfectly. As for the sound way too much highs no mids and bass. Sounds nothing like the video says it does very disappointed for a name brand. The JBL’s endurance peak3 sound way better by far. I will be returning the Beats.
