Best idea
I used the protection plan for a cordless landline phone. When I’d had the phone almost a year, I had issues with no sound during conversations. I went into my Amazon account, found the link to the protection plan and filled out the information. In no time, I was being sent a gift card for the amount of my purchase, and a mailing label to return the phone to Assurion, at no cost to me. If you have any doubts about buying the protection plan, my advice is do it!! It’s the best idea.

Asurion Equipment Program
Asurion customer service was excellent. After one phone call, no hassles about broken technology, none of the usual reboot and try again, etc… I Immediately got an email with a shipping label, with instructions that when the unit was sent back, they would refund my CC or I could have it applied as a credit to my Amazon account. I thought it would be a week or two before they got the product and processed my refund. However, I boxed up the item, placed their label on the box, and dropped it off at UPS on Saturday. When I got home, I received another email from Asurion asking how I wanted to receive the money. I chose a credit to my Amazon account, and it was immediately applied. The refund was based on when the item was dropped off at UPS, not when they received the item.

Warranty saved $$
Simply put – I bought an HP laser printer on a deep Black Friday sale and added an Asurion four year plan. 15 months later and after the HP warranty expired I had a general printer failure according to the trouble codes. Ran all the checks HP suggested and sent them to Asurion. Got back a return label, and once shipped to them had an Amazon gift card emailed to me within a day for the full price I paid. New printer to arrive six days from failure – no hassle.
