    Great Filter
I’ve bought two of these. The first in Dec 2021. Overall I’ve been pleased with them. Solid plastic build and looks nice. On level 10 the fan is quite loud, but a perfect noise level and sound for sleeping. At level 5 and below it is very quiet. You can set it on a schedule or even tie into automations. Can be used with the Smart Life app and also be integrated into home assistant.I change the filters about every 6 months and have two dogs. The filters usually come out looking like they have a thick coat of dust on them. Kinda gross, but exactly what a filter should be doing!Good/Bad: one of my filters had the UVC light socket die out. I thought it was the light itself at first and then tested the bulb on my other filter and it was fine. I contacted support. They got back to me quickly! Unfortunately both of my units were out of warranty, but the team was very supportive and offered to send out a new unit. I’m not sure this will be the case for everyone, but to me it shows good faith and a desire to provide the best service possible. Now with this in mind, I’m not an expert on cost analysis, but I highly doubt the materials for these units exceed $100. So their profit margins are probably high enough they’re able to do that with minimal hit to their bottom line.Irregardless I would recommend to anyone that is looking for a quality filter or doesn’t have a central air filter (ie using mini splits). Catch it on a sale if you can, but even still, it’s worth it.

It’s $$$, but you get what you pay for!
We have been using our Germ Guardian for a while without any problems. We started looking for a new air purifier after finding out some of the poor electrical wiring and potential fire hazard from the Germ Guardian. What made us choose this unit?1. We have 2 cats in the house and my wife has allergic issues with the cat hairs so we constantly find ourselves needing to keep the air purifiers on.2. There are several trees outside of our home that produces a lot of pollen in the spring/summer that makes it difficult for us to open our windows for the fresh air.3. We have a townhome with each floor space less than 1000 square feet which means we don’t need a huge air purifier that can cover 2000 to 3000 square feet of space. The selling feature for us was the “auto mode”, which means the air purifier uses its sensor to adjust the fan speed and how hard it works based on the air quality in the house. This means we can turn it on and leave it on 24/7. We can monitor the air quality through the air quality index (AQI) via their mobile app. This is a big difference from our previous air purifier since we only turned it on based on how we felt.It is also a very quiet unit as for the most part we haven’t had the need to turn the fan beyond level 3. For the most part the AC unit. and desk fans are much louder in the house. The only small knock we have is that you have to install the filter and lamp laying the unit on its side which is a bit awkward, however, it is not a huge deal and the installation instructions were quite clear.

Excellent purification and app tools; some quirks
I’ve been using the Air+Health Skye air purifier for a couple of weeks now, and overall I really like it. It comes down to a question of how much MORE do I like it versus a more… mainstream-priced option, though. This is a very, very expensive air purifier. Is it worth it?Before ordering the Skye purifier, I was using a HEPA filter that retails for about 20% of the retail cost of the Skye. It was also what I would consider a “whole house” filter (my place is about 1000 square feet) and had an air quality measurement system. It was a bit louder, but the sound was more “white noise”/air whooshy. It did not have connectivity and the interface was not as good. It was also “automatic” and would increase/decrease speed based on air quality. The filter was only 3-stage and it did not have a UV light. The filter lasted about 6 months and cost $40 to replace.I offer this as comparison. For a LOT more money, I get a 5 stage filter, a UV light, and an app (though the app is actually REALLY good). The Skye’s air filter also lasts about 6 months, but costs $80 to replace (and I’ll also need to replace a UV light–another added expense). That being laid out, here’s the scoop on the Skye:Pros:- The app is pretty great. I have set a schedule of 2 hours on/2 hours off for the filter to help it last a little longer (the air quality in the house is pretty good, and it just doesn’t need to run ALL the time). You can also set conditions for it to kick on. I haven’t been able to crack the Alexa code, though. I have the Skye app and my Alexa account connected, but cannot seem to figure out the magic words. Alexa just keeps wanting to find some person called “Skye” in my contacts and call them… I love the reports in the app–they’ve helped me set parameters for when the filter should be on or off, and maximize efficiency.- The menu and interface are easy to read and use. The dial on the unit is very smooth.- The filtering is efficient and high quality. There are a couple of things in the house that always crank up the particulate count, and that’s running the dishwasher and using the air fryer. For some reason, the dishwasher especially, really bumps the numbers. Comparatively speaking, the Skye makes much quicker work of the higher particulate count than my old HEPA filter did. So I gotta give the points where they’re due. Cooking odors also disappear much more quickly.- Certain speed settings are incredibly quiet. (others not so much)Meh:- I’m convinced that the fan in my unit is a bit off tolerance. I cannot run it on level 1–it makes this awful buzzing sound that just drives me bonkers. It’s not exactly loud… but it’s that kind of sound that you just can’t tune out once you start hearing it. It disappears when you speed it up to level 2. At level 3, the whole unit starts shuddering. Given the price of this unit–I can’t imagine it’s SUPPOSED to be doing that. At level 4, it’s like the shudder and the fan oscillation cancel each other out, and it stabilizes. This would be mildly annoying in a cheaper unit. It’s super uncool for something that costs this much.

    Works great
Easy to set up. Fan is quiet unless it is at a higher setting 6-10. No louder than a regular house floor fan. Takes the odor out of the air within an hour. Has a display that provide the air quality.

    Better than expected.
Quiet and cool. Looks great in my room and really cleans up the air. One point to think of in case you’re not used to lifting, it is heavy and yet nice to relocate for special reasons. So I bought a nice garden dolly with wheels, like you might use under heavy potted plants. That works great. So I can have it in the kitchen when I’m cooking and in my bedroom when I’m sleeping. I really like this unit and feel confident that it is well made to last. Have had for many weeks and no problems at all. Mechanics are easy to learn.
