    I am spoiled for life.
I can never go back to a standard iron again. I had been looking for an iron to replace my old Rowenta for at least six months. I considered purchasing another Rowenta from Costco, but thought that there had to be something better. While researching irons I ran into the steam generators. When I first told my wife about it a few months ago she was interested until she heard the price of the i300. I spent time looking into cheaper solutions, but I was not interested in getting something with a plastic boiler that might melt if the iron fell off of its resting area.Three weeks ago I placed the order after a lot more convincing. I have had the iron for almost three weeks now. I do most of the ironing in the household, but my wife loves it also. She tells everyone that asks about it. It is the first iron that I have used that can completely flatten seams in clothing and jeans. One of my wife’s friends asked her how she managed to press an article of clothing so well. The first thing I noticed when I used it the first time was that the sole plate seems cooler than my rowenta for the same fabric setting. If this causes less burning and prolongs the life of my clothes, this could be a big benefit over consumer irons. When ironing jeans, I only make a pass on one side with plenty of steam. The alternate side comes out wrinkle free also. I was able to do this with my Rowenta using the steam button aggressively, but this iron is faster than the Rowenta. I iron a pair of jeans in 2 minutes now. Tshirts and dress shirts take about the same amount of time as with an ordinary iron, but the finish is much better. Slacks have a better finish than my Rowenta also. I can get away with a machine wash and ironing and nobody knows that they were not dry cleaned.I don’t have a vacuum board. I would recommend this iron even if you have a cheap $20, ten year old board like I do. I do have a $30 board cover that I bought a year or two ago.Issues:-On marathon ironing sessions (1+ hour), a puddle forms under my board on the floor. I guess this is the price of not having a heated vacuum board.-Figuring out when it is full was a pain initially. The dipstick for my unit could drop to some lower level in the boiler if I inserted it towards the back of the fill hole with a bit of force. If I keep it towards the front of the fill hole, and use the 1 liter mark, I have no spitting water issues to worry about. Overfilling the boiler will cause water to spit out and very little steam until the water level drops.-I wish it had a way to check water level without opening it and using the dipstick.-I can get some water coming out with the steam at the very low iron settings (nylon). I have never gotten any with silk setting and above. I don’t have any clothing that needs this setting so it is not a concern for me. Polyester and rayon get ironed at silk/wool setting on this iron. This irons performance on synthetics is far better than the Rowenta because I can get full steam and the steam quantity is not dependent on the sole plate temperature.

    love this iron!
I’ve had this iron for over a year now and am very pleased with it. After going through a few basic home irons, I wanted to invest in something nicer, and researched both gravity feed irons and steam generator irons. I decided on the steam generator type for a variety of reasons, including the quality of steam and ability to produce good steam even at the coolest iron temperatures. While there are a few steam generator irons specifically marketed to the home user (like Reliable’s own IronMaven), this is basically an entry-level professional iron. Reliable did a good thing making a more affordable “prosumer” steam generator. It has a great build and quality, is easy to clean and fill, and a small profile for the home user. The iron itself is the same iron used on their other professional models, and the generator holds approx 6 cups of water. (This isn’t a huge amount–if you’re a professional alterations/tailor/cleaner who uses these things more than 4 hours a day, you’ll want a larger generator–you’ll put too much stress on this one.) I use it approximately 6 hours a week.As for the pressing itself, I’m in love. I have so much more control over my pressing than I did with other irons. Yes, the steam is amazing, and strong. I love being able to choose whether or not I want a dry iron or a cool iron with a shot of steam. There is no spitting or dribbling water.Although I bought this through Amazon for better shipping rates (through Prime), I contacted Reliable’s support when I couldn’t figure something out and their service rep responded very quickly and personally. It seems like they’ve put a lot of work into their products and customer communication (I’ve since bought other things from them) and so while I don’t normally recommend “brands” I feel they get five stars for their approachable storefront and communications.

GREAT IRONING SYSTEM – HIGHLY RECOMMEND
This is my second “ironing system” and I love it. I had no problems setting it up, the steam is strong and effective even on linen and it saves hours on ironing time. The one draw back is, the cord that attaches the iron to the water gets hot to the touch; it doesn’t burn you but it is uncomfortable but not enough to make a difference. Highly recommend!!

    Not worth the headache.
I work in a clothing store with a highly experienced Italian tailor. After great reviews and an item made in Italy we thought it was great. Our first one broke after a year. We bought two more for our store and they BOTH broke within three months. We sent it back to the factory and do not know when we will get it back. After three breaking, it is not worth the money and hastle. You will be better off getting a high-end iron from macys.

This is a great unit, but it’s not quite perfect
This is a great iron, and I really struggled with whether to give it 4 or 5 stars, but it really does perform amazingly well. It’s built and performs like industrial quality, and does a great job. I’ve owned several other high end consumer steam stations before, and this unit is equal or better performing, and great value. Both my wife and I are left handed, and I was very pleased to discover that the steam button was intelligently designed so that it could be switched to the other side and inverted. I just wish that the steam hose and power cable could also be switched as well. While the unit is fairly substantial, it does sit on the end of a standard ironing board quite well and feels secure. The only criticisms I have is that the handle get’s a little hot at the front, and it’s a little inconvenient to unscrew the reset button cap and reset the thermal shutout each time you refill the tank, but you get used to it. It would be helpful if there was a better level indication when refilling, but if you use a measured container, that’s not a big deal.I would certainly purchase again.

Love this iron – the 800 support line is fantastic. If you use this iron every day or very frequently, you do not need to empty the water tank. What I like most about this product you can buy parts if needed.
