Fast set up Security or Webcam
After a break-in where I work, security/web cameras became a high priority. While there are a lot of “cheap” solutions, they also have problems, such as resolution, lighting, and cord length. This camera is the sane solution. It comes with a long enough cord it can serve as a standalone camera or be connected to an existing system. Image resolution is very good and it works in a range of light situation – from low to nearly no – and it can be used as mounted web camera for conferences. It is just a matter of what you want to use it for. This camera is industrial grade, so at a price of less than 80 it is a bargain. Have tested it on a few different application and it outperforms my webcams and my scanner cam heads that I use for documents.

Poor
What could have been a decent camera became a poor camera in one decision. The M12 lens on these cameras is intended to screw in/out to adjust focus, as well as be replaced for other lenses. Double checking the product description, sure enough, the lens is supposed to be replaceable. But, someone, somewhere, decided to glue the lens in place, ruining it for any application with a distance under 3′.

A Basic yet Versatile Camera for My Raspberry Pi 400
Suitable for Raspberry Pi 400:One of the biggest advantages of this camera module is that it’s perfectly suitable for the Raspberry Pi 400. It’s easy to set up and use, and you can start capturing images and videos right away.Compatible USB Cable:The camera module comes with a USB cable that is compatible with many kinds of devices, making it easy to connect and use with different machines.Very Basic Camera:While this camera module doesn’t have a lot of advanced features or settings, it still does its job well. It’s a simple plug-and-play camera that captures decent quality images and videos. No Lenses Included:One thing to keep in mind is that this camera module doesn’t come with any lenses included. I don’t know if you can easily add your own lenses to customize the camera’s field of view and focus.Short USB Cable:The USB cable that comes with the camera module is a little short, which may limit the camera’s positioning in some setups. However, this can be easily remedied by using a longer USB cable.Decent Image Quality:Overall, the image quality of this camera module is decent. It has a 16-megapixel IMX298 image sensor and a 170-degree fisheye wide-angle lens that captures clear and sharp images and videos.

Hyper-distorted fisheye
I thought this was going to be a more versatile camera, but in point of fact, it is a heavily distorted fisheye; the lens is of low optical quality. I was thinking this would be perfect for a drone-mounted surveillance camera, but the quality is so meh (circular image fisheye) without corrective lens elements to minimize distortion that I didn’t bother to build it out.Another piece for the junk parts drawer in case I need a camera with a huge field of view and don’t care much about optics.

Handy to have
This will going on a Octopi setup I still have to print the housing and mount for the camera but plugged it in rebooted the Pi and the image came up in octoprint so it doesn’t get easier than that. Image is clear this is the first camera i have with a fisheye so I have to think about where and how I want to mount it.

Useful with lasers andore
This is a very good camera that I put into my laser enclosure. It helps me to see the inside of the box and monitor my cuts from my computer. The angle says 170° and fisheye but it seems much narrower than my 180° fish I. It is still a good camera but the view is not quite as wide as I thought it would be. It is still a good camera but the view is not quite as wide as I thought it would be.

Great Quality picture, cord is a bit short Docs appear to be for different device
I used this in my laser etcher as a preview camera. The picture quality was very good for this application. I found the cord that was included to be VERY short for any application but it was connected to the board with a standard plug that was quiet easy to attach to a longer cord. The instructions refer to a Varifocal lense that doesn’t appear to be the actual device I received. In the end it was fixed focus and worked very well for my needs however.

Nice for cnc/3d printing camera
I bought this camera for use on my cnc and/or 3d printer. Its an ok camera. It was easy to setup and use however the exposure time and overall image quality is not the best. It will be ok for my cnc type use cases but honestly a Webcam might have been a better option given the overall image quality of this one. It’s just that the images seem a bit dark and not of great quality. I think in future I would just buy a Webcam or a raspberry pi camera.
