    What else you need
This is a great little scanner to connect to your smartphone and scan products like an auction like hot bins or something like that and I use it for VIN number, scanning or anything skin. Pretty cool. What else you need?

    Barcode scanner
I use the barcode scanner to scan products and batch them in an inventory app. The scanner has a guide with various barcodes to set it up. It scans all the major barcode protocols. What is especially nice is the barcode that let’s you power off the scanner. When the scanner first lost its charge, I thought it was broken. I only realized that I needed to charge it using it’s USB port. The only issue that is a minor inconvenience is, when connecting to my mobile device via Bluetooth, it minimizes my app and hesitates when I re-open the app. I then have to re-navigate to my scan screen in the app. Also, if you carry the scanner in your pocket and accidentally touch the power button, it automatically turns on and connects. However, it automatically powers off if idle for a certain time period. Default idle time is set for 3 minutes. There is a 0 minute, 10 minutes, and 30 minutes idle time settings as well. The compact size and light weight is great. And the wrist strap is great for the scanner to dangle from your wrist while carrying other items. It is a great value for the time it saves. Prior to using the scanner, I was using the camera on my mobile device and had a lot of mis-scans. I’ve only had the scanner not include the last character of a barcode scan, but that is quickly remedied by re-scanning. I give it four and one-half stars. If you’re working in an area outside of Bluetooth range, you can use the scanner in store mode. There is also a mode to clear the memory. These both can be set by scanning a barcode in the manual.Beep volume can be set high volume, low volume and mute.Bluetooth transmit speed can be set to high speed, medium speed, and low speed.Connecting the scanner to your device can be done via Bluetooth or USB dingle.

Impressive value. Simple operation. Tiny and pocketable!
For years I used a bar-code scanner which “sat” between the keyboard and computer on a 5-pin KB splitter cable. It was extremely simple and worked great (all it was, essentially, was an “automatic” keyboard which “typed” the scanned codes). Using that device waned as keyboard connection technology changed multiple times in the past 30 years or so (5-pin DIN -> PS/2 -> USB -> Bluetooth …) and I ultimately didn’t keep up after converting that old kit to PS/2 and its computer eventually got retired.Recently, I thought I would get back to organizing my physical assets better, and bar-coding is one fairly integral aspect of that … but first I am reworking my invoicing system which has had human readable bar-codes for years. It’s time to get back to scanning those with a dedicated scanner as I don’t want to use my phone or tablet for it and sometimes I mis-key a number and then have to figure out what happened. This little scanner was very simple to integrate into my system(s) and I have been playing with it now for many months as I get more serious about my “permanent” plans for it. Rather than using its cable or dongle, I hooked it up via Bluetooth so I can easily move around the room (though being in sight of the monitor obviously will help to ensure you are not inputting nonsense … or into a wrong database field). A single code needs to be scanned in the tiny manual to activate the Bluetooth connection and it will then quickly pair. Any other configuration changes (the defaults are very sane!) are also achieved by scanning 1D bar-codes.As you may infer, the manual is IMPORTANT, so don’t lose it. That said, I was pleasantly surprised to find NetumScan (which I had not previously heard of) has an active and fairly well maintained website. A generic manual for this scanner and it’s siblings is available for download. I immediately saved it into my manuals library in case it becomes unavailable online. The one thing I found a bit odd is that this scanner does not project a red “aiming” line like the majority of other scanners I have used. Rather, it projects a red square. This is likely because it scans not only 1D but also 2D codes such as QR codes. If the red square touches any part of the code you are trying to scan and you are at a reasonable distance, your should get a successful scan. It is just that simple. The device is so small and light it is trivial to move around and it still fits the hand nicely. A good feature I have not yet tried is “storage” mode, where the scanner will keep track of scans until you return to a computer for upload. I imagine this would be tremendously useful for conducting inventory in a warehouse or portion of a large library, for example. This device seems to be an impressive value compared to better-known scanner vendors.

Useful in the warehouse but constantly turns on in my bag
I connect it to my phone or my laptop and can use it around the warehouse just like a standard mobile device. The con is that you can’t just throw it in your bag, it is constantly turning on, would be nice to have an on/off slider switch or some way to keep it from turning on when the button is pressed.

    THIS GADGET WORKS NICE, REALLY.
It works as it says and actually more, it’s just not what I wanted or I do not know how to work it properly. I was looking for a desktop OR Code scanner, the one that reads the codes of things, takes you to the site or dl the application to your device. If it can do this can someone let me know? Thanx

Super cool, super easy, super efficient!
Works out of the box in seconds, easy to switch it to specialized settings by (surprise) scanning a QR code to change its parameters. Scans go into memory so you can dump them later, it’s lightweight and ridiculously easy to use. Recommended for sure!
