Very big for a desktop indeed
Large display and buttons; great for an add on to your work desk; office or home.Soft and quiet tactile buttons and responses. This will take up a good footprint of your desk so have some space cleared for it for sure.

Simple 4-function design, large keys, easy-to-read display …
DUPOTA Calculator – Handheld, Large Display, Big Buttons with 12-Digit and 2-line LCD, Dual Solar Power and Battery. Calculator with Tax and Check Function for Office, Home, School and Business (OA-635)I am lost without a small home office desk calculator for quick calculations that always seem to come up in the course of an average day. Whether it’s working on taxes, ordering a few things online, checking a credit card statement, or just balancing the checkbook, I find a small 4-function desktop calculator a must. And this Dupota (OA-635) desktop/handheld 12-digit calculator is not only perfect for those quick everyday tasks, but it has a few extra features that make it a cut above the norm. Most notably is the two-line display. This is new to me … I never used a two-line display before. I didn’t know if I’d like it, but after using it a few times, I’m sold. If an answer doesn’t seem right, I can recall the exact inputs I used to arrive at the result … and if I find an error, I can edit or insert any digit used in the calculation without having to input the entire calculation over again. This is very clever and useful. It is able to display over 100 lines (one-at-a time), although the exact number seems to depend on the complexity or the number of characters per line. There is no Clear Entry (CE) key, but since you can clear digits one-at-a-time, the CE key really isn’t necessary. It also has the usual MRC, M-, M+, and % keys. It has Tax+, Tax-, and Rate keys for computing sales tax. The ON/AC key clears everything, including saved lines – however, it does not clear the Memory Recall (MRC) key. For this, you must use the M- key. There is no OFF key – it shut6s off automatically if a key is not pressed for about 10 minutes. It all works perfectly. This unit takes one AAA battery and has a one-inch solar panel. A nice little feature that I have never seen before is that the battery compartment has a space for a spare battery. I can’t test the efficiency of the solar panel because it needs the AAA battery installed – I think the solar panel prolongs the life of the battery … but I’ll have a better idea when I know for sure how long a fresh battery lasts. BTW, this calculator came with one AAA battery included. The instructions are not very useful and require the use of a magnifying glass to read them. These are a general set of instructions used for more than one model and, therefore, refer to a few keys not included on the OA-635 model. However, this is a basic 4-function calculator and using it is very intuitive. The base has 4 rubber pads to protect your furniture. So, I am very pleased and highly recommend this unit. Even if you never use the few extra features, you can ignore them, and it is still a great little basic 4-function calculator and an excellent value.

Makes One of My Job A Lot Easier
I never thought I would write such a long review on a calculator. But being a business owner, I need all the help I can get and this definitely makes my job easier. So, I’m giving credit where credit is due.The Tax Rate – The main reason why I got this was for the Tax Rate feature and I’m so glad that it works super easily. The instructions are not clear to me on how to set the Tax Rate. Fortunately, a user shared how to set the rate on a different listing for the same calculator so I’ll share it here:1. Tap ON/AC2. Enter your Tax Rate (example: 7.35%)3. Tap RATE4. Tap TAX+That’s it! So, when I tally up a sale of a product that cost $14.99, all I have to do is type in the price then hit TAX+ (14.99 & TAX+) and it immediately gives me the Total Cost = $16.09. I confirmed this on my Mac’s calculator doing the slightly longer calculation (as I usually do.) The Tax Rate feature alone earn this five stars. The Screen – The calculator displays two lines. I like this larger and longer screen. I can see the full math formula / calculation on the top left side of the screen and the total on the bottom right. Though, the calculation numbers are lighter in color so you really have to stare at the part of the screen as it doesn’t stand out.The Keys – The buttons are a good size and are responsive when tapping. I like that the keys don’t tap as loud as my computer keyboard. The Math – It all adds up! At first, I thought there was an issue. When doing the test calculations on the back of the box (and in the manual), I wasn’t getting the right answers at first on some. I quickly realized I was just hitting the wrong key or hitting the right key in the wrong order. The “computer instruction” on the back of the box is in really fine print and looks utterly confusing (there’s extra space on the back to where the text could have been larger.) However, once I started doing the test calculations, I got the hang of this calculator relatively quickly.I haven’t used any memory buttons (and never do on any calculator). The percentage, add, subtract, divide, and multiply functions work as it would on any calculator.Someone mention the double battery port in the back and that only one battery is needed. Yes, there looks to be two spaces for two AAA batteries. But only one side has the + and – to install a AAA battery. I’m happy they provided the battery (just be sure to remove the plastic.) I haven’t tested the Solar feature. (Again, I never do on any of my other calculators that claim it can use solar energy.)

Good basic calculator, terrible instructions
The written instruction mostly pertains to other models that have different features. If you have experience with handheld calculators, you can mostly figure out the functions of keys on this product. It has a 2-line display, with the top line showing the input calculations. It is both battery and photo-cell-powered.

Good Option For Seniors
This is the perfect calculator for older eyes or fat fingers. This is a desk calculator, too large to be considered portable or handheld. The calculator is both battery operated as well as solar powered. It does a wide arrange of functions, more than I need on any given day. It turns off after 8 minutes of no input. There may be similar units for comparable cost but this unit by Dupota is worth the cost.
