Works Flawlessly!
I tried another KVM switch but had problems. It would switch my two laptops, but the wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse were erratic. I had to plug the Logitech receiver directly into the laptops and manually move it when I switched computers. The other KVM had a wireless remote switch that failed after three months. This one has a hard wired remote – no batteries required. I have two laptops that are connected to the input side of this switch with a single USB-C cable for each. I have my Logitech receiver in one of the output USB-A ports and the keyboard and mouse work perfectly. The output USB-C output is connected to a Dell D3100 docking station. The docking station powers three monitors, a speaker system, a 2TB backup drive, and a 6-port USB hub. The USB hub has several thumb drives I use for storage of sensitive data I do not want on my laptops in case they are lost or stolen. Everything works great with no lag or slowdown.

I have this installed between a computer and a USB hub for monitor support.Only had one weird issue where my monitors didn’t come up as connected to my PC and would not engage. I truly think this was just a Windows issue (or the monitors not waking up) recognizing the switch when I pushed the button due to one PC being turned off and the other one being turned on and the switch was turned to the active PC.It has only happened the one time and was quickly remedied by rebooting the computer that was trying to use the connected monitors.I really don’t think it was an issue with the switch but other equipment.

Originally, I thought this was great; I loved the extra switch button that can be placed a bit away from the USB switch, and it seemed to work flawlessly. However, soon after installing this, my wife started to complain that her Surface Pro 5 wouldn’t wake from sleep mode–it would reboot instead IF it was allowed to sleep for more than 3 hours or so (“deep sleep”).As a long-time IT person, and since I had just given her my old SP5 after getting my SP8 at the time I bought this switch, I assumed this was something in sleep or hibernate settings on her SP5 and tried all the usual sleep/wake troubleshooting steps. Since the probably only happened after hours in sleep mode, it took a while to go through all the normal troubleshooting (nearly a month). I finally gave-up on a “simple” fix and completely reset her PC, reinstalling Windows from scratch–the new build still had same issue. I therefore assumed it was hardware somehow, and stumbled on the fact that she had no problem waking from deep sleep if this USB switch was not plugged in. I did more testing on the switch and eventually realized that she ONLY had the wake from sleep issue if MY PC (a Surface Pro 8) was plugged into the switch along with her SP5. If her SP5 was “alone” on the switch, it would wake fine. But as soon as my SP8 was also plugged in AND powered on (in sleep or not), then hers would crash (with NO logs of any kind) like it had been simply powered-off while in deep sleep (note: no issue with hers if mine was connected but powered-off vs. sleeping or on).In a bit of desperation, I ordered another, different, USB switch (for $19.99) and repeated testing. Just in case, I ordered a powered–switch (which in place to this switch’s external button, has a micro-USB 5V power port). After several days (nights) of testing, she had NO issues at all resuming after the PC slept overnight. I then tried it without the external power to the switch, still no issue.Based on this empirical testing, I concluded that the KCEVE USB 3.0 switch was allowing some kind of signal interference from the 2nd PC plugged-in (my Surface Pro 8), where the replacement switch is completely isolating the two PCs. Interestingly, my SP8 never had any issue at all resuming from sleep when her SP5 was connected to the KCEVE switch.I would guess it is unlikely most people using this switch will noting any issue. However, if you buy this switch and one of the PCs has trouble resuming from sleep, it might be a good bet that the SWITCH is the cause of your issues. Sadly, I am well outside of the window to return this switch, but after many, many hours wasted trying to solve this issue, being out the cost of this switch is the least of my concerns. Just happy all is working now with my new switch.

This Switch Selector Works!
