Great device for remote learning!
As a teacher who had to pivot to distance learning because of the pandemic, I searched for ways to be able to see what students were doing. This is a $6 device that allows even beginner English learners to attach it to a chromebook and mirror what they are doing on their keyboard. A student places a notebook on the keyboard and the teacher can watch as the student writes or draws or solves a problem. Compared to a document camera that costs far more, it’s a great solution and students love it!

It works!
This is an inexpensive way for teachers to share a read aloud book or whiteboard work. It’s a little flimsy and difficult to attach to the device, but it does work if you don’t have a lot of money to spend on a document camera.

Good for a quick lesson
I am a virtual teacher and it works to show my students something quickly. I have a student teacher and she uses it as well. The downfall is the area it will reflect is smaller than a typical whiteboard or too small for a read aloud.

Not worth the $40. The viewing area shows 1/3 of the reflected area. The reflection is fuzzy even at 1280 by 720 resolution.The highest resolution of 1920 x 1080 was not supported by my chrome book.

Simple but effective
I love how simple it is but effective for getting a view of your document . Love the small dry erase board that comes with it. I bought a six pack, but only needed one for my daughter. Sold the rest in one day to my neighbors who are all home schooling too.

This is a temporary solution only
I had trouble making it work. I could not get it to fold right. It was clumsy on the computer. So brought a more advanced version of this.

I was so excited for these to use with my students. I even shared the info with my district to purchase more. Sadly, while they do work as advertised and are simple to install, they just show much too small of an area to be effective. Also, while the directions say to just mirror/unmirror the zoom settings to get it to read correctly for the students, this isn’t true. While it will work for your own screen, it is still mirrored for students. We tried the software from the company, but it isn’t supported by our IT dept and when a coworker tried on his personal laptop, it caused major issues with his camera and he had to get the whole computer fixed. Needless to say, my district cancelled their order and we pursued other avenues.

I like that it stores flat and is easy to transport. Mirrored image easily fixed by using visualizer extension. Does what I need it to so I’m happy. A good substitute in a pinch if you don’t have a doc cam.
