For example, to do the equation 4 – 2, you would need to press “4” then “+” then “2” then “-” then “equals” to get the right answer. I bought this for my office and under normal circumstances I would run a tape of all of my calculations but I keep the print function off with this one because it is SO LOUD when it is printing! But the blue ink is beautiful and easy to read and the color of the machine is gorgeous and it doesn’t take up near as much space as my old one so I am overall happy with it.
