Crazy good value excellent stop motion camera
I’m using this as a stop motion camera for time lapses of 3D prints. It’s ideal for this purpose for several reasons:1. It has a great zoom range for objects very close to the camera. I have it working at about 200mm/8 inches. None of my other webcams can accomplish this.2. The focus is not automatic. That means when the print head and build plate move, the focus doesn’t change constantly. This is a real plus when you’re taking pictures frame by frame and don’t want the focus changing 30 times a second.3. Lag is pretty low for 4K, but I’m also not using this for motion recording: I’m using it for time lapses.4. All metal body is nice: this camera actually moves around a lot and it’s really durable.5. The lens is really good for a low priced camera. Pretty sure it’s interchangeable but not sure what lenses would work.

A huge flaw in the image
there seems to be an issue with uploading pictures to Amazon reviews as of late or I would easily be able to show what the problem is with this camera. There is a hotspot in the center of the image where the colors are very bright and they fade out to almost gray outside the image. The defect remains constant regardless of the zoom level which means it’s a flaw in the sensor. If I have gotten a defective camera than I have gotten two in a row. It is difficult to imagine that this would be a normal feature as image quality is pretty much the main thing you want from any kind of camera. And a huge artifact in the center of your image is a monstrously noticeable flaw. The camera seems solidly built in the lens is good. Nice fit and finish and smooth controls none of which matter if the image is poor. Not much else to say about it I’m going to contact Amazon and find out why am unable to post images.

Minimum Focus Distance
Only undesirable feature on the unit I received was that the minimum focus distance is about 36 inches.Any thing closer the camera will not focus clearly.

Happy with my purchase
I like the camera for experimentation, prototyping, and conferencing. It feels all metal and glass in the hands, has nice heft and compcteness to it.Shows up immediatelly in Zoom, and any other conferecning software no problem.I’m happy with the colors, and brightenss, and sharpness from this camera. Its basically a webcam on steroids – better optics, and optical image controls, tripod thread on two sides.Being all metal must be great for heat dissipation (it does stay cool), consistency in performance with changes in ambient temperatures (even on hot hot California day seems to work without issues), and logevity of the circuits. The manual lens feels smooth, refined, accurate and repeateable when adjusting. Every one of the three dials feels nice to turn. This probably will depend on how carefully sand and dust are kept out.You have three physicial dials to turn and play with on the lens (in strictly professional terms, jk): zoom, brightness, and focus.Awesome bonus: has two 1/4 inch standard camera threads on opposite sides of camera body, forinfinit mounting possibilities.Seems like a nice toy to play with for buidling intuition in lens operation.

Excellent quality, color and zoom but not 4k and way bigger than I thought
The quality is amazing, zoomin in works great, significant distortion on wide angle(that’s fine), very good auto color correction and white balance – super quick. The zoom is so good and close that I put my finger almost touching the lens and was able to focus!

Terrible not 4k do not buy
This is a cheap camera with a trash sensor and manual zoom. If it was like $10 it would still be a rip-off. Don’t waste your money / time returning this product.

Great quality at a great price!
Exactly as described. Greatly exceeded my expectations, especially given the price.

nice sharp image
Really nice camera. I liked that you can manually control the zoom, focus and aperture. Just plugged it into my laptop, Windows automatically loaded a driver for it. I downloaded a program to view it, selected it as the source, and there it was. Quick and easy to link to,
