Quick and painless process
My printer stopped working correctly so I applied for a claim. No issues whatsoever and the refund was issued as soon as they saw I brought the printer to UPS (with a prepaid label).

Highly Recommend!
Processing my claim was incredibly easy! I didn’t need to speak with anyone. I simply submitted my claim online, and by the next day, I had already received my Amazon gift card. Thank you so much!

Asurion does not want to cover my cracked screen
This insurance is a hoax. I purchased this when I purchased my external monitor. Now that I need to file a claim for a cracked screen, they are saying that it is not covered under this plan. Why bother with the insurance if they don’t cover cracked screens? The plan clearly states that it covers cracked screens.

Asurion is reliable when products are not
I’ve benefited from Asurion four times. I don’t include it with every purchase. So, it’s a true crap shoot whether it pays off in the long run or not. They’ve handle every claim flawlessly and without question. I’ve had instances where they refund the purchase price immediately. I’ve had an instance where they require the product to be sent in before returning the money. I’ve had an instance where I received a replacement product. The trickiest part of such services is remembering whether you purchased protection for a failed item or not. My last claim was for a motherboard that failed after 30 months (on a 36 month policy). Fortunately, their website actually keeps track of your insured items…unfortunately, the item descriptions can be ambiguous e.g. “Asurion 2 year Mobile Accident Protection Plan” and it doesn’t tell me the actual product (though it does tell me when and where it was purchased). If you have a robust mechanism of tracking your insured items and policy expiration dates, then it’s probably a 50/50. Obviously, it’s a waste of money if you forget about the insurance or tend to turnover products often.Of the 24 items I’ve insured, I’ve made four claims. I estimate that it’s a near break-even proposition over the long run. Make sure to store their emails in a “permanent” folder.

The Techs need to know the product
Unfortunately the tech I talked to didn’t know the product (8010e series HP printer) well enough to solve my problem which was the fact that I wasn’t “snapping” the ink cartridges in correctly. I had to contact HP to get help.
