A good family printer
I’m very satisfied with this printer. We use it as our family printer, and have just finished putting it through a strenuous test: over 400 copies of our annual Christmas letter. To satisfy me, a printer needs to make this task easy for me and allow refilling the ink cartridges, and this printer succeeds on both counts. While the printing speed on duplex is slower than I would like (single-sided printing is acceptably fast, but the duplexing takes a while — the delay is not mechanical, but it sits there thinking for 10 seconds or so before proceeding with the second side), I love that I can fire off several tens of pages at once from the living room, and not have to worry about it. The duplex capability more than makes up for the lack of speed (no having to remember exactly which way to reinsert the paper after printing one side). I’ve had no duplexing paper jams (zero!).The cartridges are simple to refill (usual technique: remove sticker, drill a small hole in the appropriate place, inject ink until it leaks out), and though the printer complains when it thinks the initial cartridge should be expended, simply holding the ‘Cancel’ button for 10 seconds will get it to proceed (seems to only be needed once). Of course, the printer can no longer track the ink levels, but that’s a small price to pay for saving hundreds of dollars over the life of the printer.I’ve used the scanner a few times, and it works fine and not as slow as our previous printer. I appreciate the document feeder, which makes it quick to scan multiple pages.Bottom line: this is a great little printer to have sitting on your desk for the family to use.

Excellent printer for home office scanning and color printing
I have used this printer for a few months now, albeit not excessively, but I can report we are pleasantly surprised with the quality and ease-of-useI primarily bought this for the automatic document feeder with scanning function. I have used it to scan multiple-page documents for financial claims and other filing needs. The duplex scanning function is not automatic but the supplied scanning software makes it alsmost as easy as automatic: after scanning it asks if you want to scan the other side and prompts you to flip the pages. It picks back up and stiches the file together in whatever format you selected (image or PDF).The photo printing qualify using quality photo paper is good. It certainly isn’t as good as professional prints but is good enough for sending to the grandparents or putting in a photo album.General printing is good and as expected in B&W and color, although I use an old and inexpensive laserjet for B&W volume. Both the supplied task management software and front-mounted buttons get good scores. To be honest, I would have appreciate some words to accompany the buttons on the printer since it took some time to remember which one scans and which one copies. Once I figure that out, it was easier than opening the scanning software, since it auto-launches with the button press. The wireless networking features are also good and I was able to print from the iPhone within minutes of setting it up.I have not used the fax function so I can’t speak to it, but will update the review if I do.

A Great Little Printer for a Very Low Price
As printers go, this was one heck of a value. I say “was,” because I’ve had it a couple years now. I dunno; maybe that particular model isn’t available any longer. It performs all its features very well, however. If you’re looking for a low cost printer, I do recommend it.Just a couple complaints. The Canon software that comes with it isn’t the greatest or the most intuitive. There is a significant learning curve to use its features. But if you use one or more of its features regularly, you’ll get the hang of it. My problem is that if I don’t use it regularly, I forgot in between. And the relearning can be a time-consuming hassle. The other complaint that everyone talks about is the cost of good quality, i.e., OEM inkjet ink. I’ve had to take out a mortgage on the house to keep the printer supplied with ink. Next printer, I’ll get one of those ink tank printers; Canon and Epson both make them. So if you do a lot of printing, you should consider one of those.

I love this printer
I had Epson printers for years and while the photo print quality was great, it seemed that longevity wasn’t and they lacked some features. In particular, as I printed less and less, the print heads would get clogged (dried out I guess) to the point that even running the print head cleaning function didn’t do any good. So far this printer has been even better out of the box. Easy to set up. AirPrint was easy. Built in duplexer. The automatic print head alignment is a great feature. And so far no issues with clogged print heads.

Not the best for image printing, especially if it is on plain paper. However, for standard business documents and reports does the job. Had a bit of trouble with the wireless printing but to be fair I haven’t really read the instructions or taken the time to install software / setup properly. Which in of itself is a bit of endorsement for the unit. Couple of little things, it is slow to print and if you haven’t used it in a bit slow to wake-up. You’ll get a printer is not responding but if you wait it out the situation sorts itself out.
