Just like the ones in the lab
You can buy heat guns at the hardware store for cheaper, but after you burn through two or three of them, you’ll want one of these. I’ve used ones nearly identical to this since I was a student. Every lab uses these because they last. I decided to try my hand at bending pvc board and toasted the last hardware store cheapie that I will ever own. This one did the trick. It takes a fair amount of time to get the trim hot enough, but it will work and this hot air gun won’t melt down (literally) on you. Plastic cased hot air guns just can’t handle the heat. The manual lists replacement parts. These hot air guns are durable and are worth fixing if they should ever fail. I’ve used ones like this that were over thirty years old. This is a worthwhile investment in a world full of cheap junk.

A Very Formidable Tool.
Right out of the box the tool seems quite daunting. I thank it is just cause it is sturdy and solid. The only quam I have is that there isn’t a list on or w/ the product that tells you the temperature for each number.

I’ve bought dozens of different brand heat guns and this one has lasted the longest.
I use a heat gun at my job every day HEAVILY! (6 day work weeks) I’ve bought dozens of heat guns. From complete garbage $30 heat guns, to ridiculously expensive Steinel heat guns. This heat gun has lasted me the longest and is still going. I’ve currently been using it for 8 months and it shows no signs of letting up. The only downside? A bit heavy with the metal housing, but it’s totally worth it to not deal with brittle, plastic nonsense. I’ll update this review when it gives out.Update: After a year and a half, I had my first problem with the heat-gun. There was a loose connection in the male plug from pulling it around and getting it caught on things this whole time. I replaced the male plug for a few bucks and it’s still going strong.2nd update: I no longer use this heat gun as heavily as I’ve changed trades. I used this thing heavily everyday for 2 years and 4 months. It’s still going strong. The quality of this heat gun is light years above the competition.

Is it supposed to stop working not even 2 months later?
I’ve bought so many different heat guns in my career and I bought this one because it has the highest air flow. I liked the little stand so I can set it down and it doesn’t just lay on the floor with the chance of it burning the extension cord or any type of film. For the past two weeks it has not been working properly. It will just stop heating and blows warm air (not hot on my hand) when I need it to be at 900 degrees. Extremely disappointed that I wasted $250 on this heat gun when wagner heat guns from Home Depot literally never stop working unless you break it yourself. Rip off

The one I bought over 30 years ago still works.
I bought this to replace another brand, which died after 8 or 10 years. These are more money, but hold up wonderfully. Well worth the extra money for Made in the USA quality!

Quality?
Just recieved this, used it for one task, no issues. But if weight has anything to do with quality this one tops the chart. I have owned or used 6-8 heat guns over the years and this one probably weights twice as much as any other, nice. Cool down was almost instant. Would give it 5 stars if I owned and used it for more than 5 minutes

This is truly an industrial unit, just as the description states.
We like the robust design and build. We weren’t too crazy about the price; but you get what you pay for.We use this heat gun for heating metal parts where a torch would be inadvisable or unsafe. and also for heat-shrinking insulation sleeving.
