Amazing quality and great living room projector
Before I had this, I had a BenQ w1070. My biggest complaint with that scream was that the room had to be pitch black to not look washed out. The picture quality was fine. The Epson 3800 has a wonderful picture quality. The blacks look black and the colors seem realistic. Most important, I have used this projector with a lot of ambient light, both from lamps and overhead lights as well as daylight. It looks great. It doesn’t look washed out at all.The frame rate is tremendous and seems steady.

Love it… Highly recommend
A huge upgrade over our old Epson 1080p projector. We tried another brand but the darks were terrible. This picture is incredible whether we are watching football or the latest sci-fi movie.

This one had really bad picture quality.

So far so good
Bought the refurbished model. Seems to be working so far. Great picture quality. Best in a very dark room. I have an apple tv 4K device installed on it as well as a vizio soundbar with wireless subwoofer and surround speakers. Also using a 100 inch screen. Great for movies and sports.

Great buy.
I love this projector. It was easy to setup and is quiet. It’s a projector so you can hear the fan, but one of my couches is right below it, and I can only really hear it during the real quiet scenes. I replaced an older Epson projector with this one and am happy.

Top quality , if you can stand the noise
It is natural 4K, no doubt about it. Brilliant picture quality. But it’s bulky and terribly noisy. Definitely it is not something you can use at home sitting next to it. Interface is ancient, no android tv or anything like that and feels like something from early 2000s. I have two headphones and none of them I was able to pair with Bluetooth. I didn’t care much as I returned the unit in 2 days experiencing its noise and Bluetooth issue.

Wanted to add a counter perspective to focus concerns.
I almost didn’t pick up this projector due to repeated concerns about focus uniformity. I’ve had no issue whatsoever with this. I think it may be because I didn’t require a ton of vertical or horizontal lens shift though I did use it. This picture is bright enough to be serviceable in a room with three windows during the day and when the lights go out it’s truly special. The contrast is truly phenomenal. Does it have OLED blacks? No. But I’ve got a 100” image and it’s a more beautiful picture than any modern tv I have in my home. I’d be shocked if you could find anything better for a similar use case for $1500 refurbished (what I paid.) If you don’t want to pay $3000 this is a great projector for you.
