Well made, great value
This is a really nice cast iron Dutch oven. I have another cast iron pan that’s a “brand name” and I really can’t see any difference in quality between that one and this. The little silicone handles are useful also. This is a very good item for a very reasonable price. Also, it arrived quickly.

Versatile and compact
This is a terrific dutch oven / frypan combo for a single person, just 3q, solid and well-made. Kept oiled and dry, seasoned cast iron is the best cooking medium of all, no toxins, no scratches, and good heat retention with a heavy bottom.

Cooked my very first loaf at my Mother in laws house with this Dutch oven. I immediately bought the same exact one. Once I returned back home after the holidays, I used this to bake a loaf. Absolutely perfect loafs everytime! I use this for multiple cooking recipes as well!

This pot and lid set is of a medium size but it is well designed, nicely made and for all of what it could do, the many ways it could be used, it is somewhat of a Swiss Army knife of kitchen pots and pans, very useful. Campingmoon makes wire racks having short legs on them and Lodge and others make 8 inch cast iron meat racks /trivets, all of which are available here at Amazon. A rack turns this set into a Dutch oven.

Love at first sizzle
I found this pan to be ideal for a smaller meal, something that will not make one or two fish fillets look lost in a pan. Add to that the bonus that is quite deep for a pan – meaning fewer splashes.Of course, the main quality of this pan is that is made of cast iron which makes it ideal for induction cooking. The only drawback of an induction stove is that the temperature cannot be increased linear but in steps and sometimes one single step is between too much and too little. A cast iron pan has enough thermal inertia to smooth those transactions.Then, why only four stars?The manufacturer managed to get a good product at low cost. But with a little bit more effort could transform it into a great product. You see, normally when a cast iron product comes out of the mold the surface is not perfectly smooth. This is not a problem if you were to use the pan on a gas stove, but I would be reluctant to use it directly on a ceramic surface because, potentially it can scratch the surface. They should have addressed this issue.Personally, I used some metal sandpaper to smooth the bottom outside and inside (you don’t really need to do the inside). Mind you that as soon as you wash the dust and the pans dries the rust appears immediately, so you need to re-season the pan right away. But once you do that, I am sure that you’ll enjoy this pan for a long time.

Perfect for Sourdough Bread
This 5 qt dutch oven baked perfect bread from the first time I used it. Wipe it dry after cleaning and lightly oil.It will be ready for your next use. Couldn’t ask for more.

Made sourdough today
Very pleased with the capacity and quality. I seasoned it last night. Today I made an apple raisin sourdough bread in it. I use a parchment paper sling so no sticking issues. My breads are 1lb flour plus starter and 5oz fruit. While it did flatten the top a little the shape of my bread is good with a great rise and crust. No burnt bottom. I do 500F for 25 mins and 450 with lid off for 15 mins.I may get 3 more because I could easily fit 4 of these dutch ovens at once in my oven which will save me time and money. The lid fits well. Great value.

Nice Pot/Pan/Dutch Oven, not too heavy!
I like the look of the Dutch Oven.I like the fact that the top can be used as a pan because the handles are on the side.The handgrips fit the handles well making it easy to bring the hot pot in and out of the hot oven when applicable.First thing I did was oil it and burn it in following the well provided instructions. Now it’s shinny and black, just like all my other cast iron looks. I wipe with a little oil from time to time to keep them looking great. I have used this for frying eggs and making sourdough bread and it still looks new and is non stick.Follow the instructions which explain how to maintain cast iron and you will never have a rusty pot or pan. It’s easy to maintain.Like I said, it’s not to heavy. Only 20 lb.

I purchased these about 8 months ago, and after the first use I wanted to give them a 5 star review, but after reading other reviews claiming rusting and poor quality I decided to wait.8 month later, these cast iron pans are the best choice I’ve made in the kitchen. They are durable, versatile, and reliable. Please note, they do require a little bit of effort to clean and dry them properly, and you should probably do some research on how to cook properly with them; but if you treat these pans correctly they will return the favor.I have had no issues with the quality of these pans, no rusting or degradation after using them multiple times per week for the last 8 months. I have cooked everything from loaves of bread, to steaks, and everything baked mac & cheese in between. They function perfectly both on the stove and in the oven, and can be used as two separate pieces or as a lid for the other piece.Strongly recommend, just please do your research on use and care and they will last for a long time
