Not For Use as Air Conditioner Cover
I guess smart people would know what an evaporative cooler is before purchasing this item, and therefore realize the back of this cover is completely open. I myself, am not that smart. 🙂 I bought this item assuming I could use it as an air conditioner cover because the size was perfect. I had no idea the backside of the cover is completely open. I guess it would work fine as an evaporative cooler cover, so I don’t want to give this a really bad review. I just wish the pictures would have shown the back side as being open and uncovered. Other then that it seemed like it was well made, quality material, and the drawstring was a nice added feature.

Protects not rips.
When I received this I thought; “this’ll never make it with the winds we get where I live.”Well, so far there has been ruff winds and this cover has performed very well. No rips to tearing and that’s a plus in my mind.I am pleased.

Nice durable feel to it
Nice durable feel to it…I really did not notice in write up that a side was open. The picture did not dipict it as such. But so far so good.

Good protection but read this if your cooler is supported by cables on the top
This covered our swamp cooler just fine. I imagine it will last for a while so we are pleased. I took a star off for two reasons: 1) the instructions weren’t really clear as to how to tie it on in the area where the cooler meets the wall; 2) for wall installations that are held in place by supporting cables on top, there was no guidance on how to install it without cutting long slits in the top of the cover, reducing its effectiveness and, probably, life. For #1, we just wrapped the cord all around the opening where the cooler goes through the wall and snugged it up. For #2, more importantly, I removed the supporting cables temporily, cut them in half, and put screw-turbuckles onto them. Now, to put the cover on, I loosen the turnbuckles far enough to unhook the cables from the loops built into the top of the swamp cooler. Then I put the cover on, and hook the cables again to the cooler through the holes in the cover, tightening the turnbuckles up to resume their role in supporting the cooler. Works great, looks fine.

Works as Advertised
Fit my side vented evaporative cooler perfectly. Covers top and three sides (not bottom). Vented side has laces (like a shoe) and rope to secure the cover as well as the rope is weaved into the hem so you thread your laces up and tie a simple not and it snugs to fit.
