    Lightweight and Efficient
We’ve been using the One Step Steam Iron for a while now, and overall, I’m quite satisfied with its performance. Here’s a breakdown of my experience:Pros:Easy to Glide:The stainless steel soleplate is smooth and allows the iron to glide effortlessly across different fabrics. I find it easy to get through wrinkles quickly, and the even steam distribution makes the process much more efficient.Heats Up Fast:One of the best things about this iron is how quickly it heats up. You don’t have to wait long to start ironing, which is a huge plus when you’re in a rush.Lightweight:Contrary to what some irons feel like, this one is not heavy at all. It’s lightweight enough to handle comfortably. No Major Issues with Water Tank:I had a minor mishap where I accidentally spilled water when refilling the tank, but surprisingly, it didn’t affect the iron’s performance. It still worked just fine, which is a relief since some irons tend to malfunction if they get wet in the wrong places.Cons:Cord Reel Issue:While the cord reel is convenient for storing the cord, I’ve found that it sometimes gets stuck. If this happens, I have to manually pull the cord and re-roll it, which is a bit annoying. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s something to keep in mind.Overall, this is a solid iron that does its job well. It heats up quickly, is easy to glide over clothes, and isn’t too heavy, making ironing much easier. The minor issue with the cord reel doesn’t overshadow its good performance, and I haven’t had any problems with the water tank, even when I made the mistake of spilling water. If you’re looking for a reliable, lightweight steam iron with a few small quirks, this one is a great choice!

    Irons really well
I live in an older building, with limited electrical capacity. This uses slightly lower wattage than most other irons, but because it steams so well, my clothes still look like they came from a dry cleaner. The retractable bird and the great price are icing on the cake.

Functional, but some dripping + cord issues
We are moderate iron users – ironing clothes and occasionally fabric. Our last iron was also from Black and Decker, the Light N Easy model (yellow; pictured). Recently, it started spitting out brown rust stains while ironing, which could not be ameliorated despite multiple vinegar rinses. We live in an area with very hard water and haven’t been super vigilant about using distilled water in our iron. I’ve also lent the iron out and cannot be sure that everyone who’s used it filled it with distilled water. Lessons have been learned! We purchased this particular Black and Decker iron because:- Auto Clean system: We wanted an easy way to clean out the steam vents and prevent build-up as with out last iron.- Stainless steel soleplate: After learning about the dangers of PFOA nonstick surfaces, we’ve been phasing out nonstick cookware, bakeware, and appliances in our home. Our last iron had a nonstick soleplate.- Retractable cordSide by side photos of this Even Steam iron and our last Light N Easy iron are attached. The iron arrived in a Black and Decker box with a Use and Care Manual. Despite appearing new, upon closer inspection, the water tank had multiple water droplets inside (pictured). I’m hoping that water vapor condensed inside the tank between being manufactured and arrival at my house, instead of water remaining from someone else using my iron before I received it.Usage notes:- Water tank: Easy to fill. The opening is wide enough to pour water directly inside, however I prefer to insert a small funnel (pictured) to prevent spills.- Cord: Since the cord doesn’t have a ball and socket joint to connect to the iron, it can sometimes get in the way when ironing. I’ve learned to hold the cord to the iron handle to prevent this. As per other reviewers, it’s difficult to get the cord to retract all the way, which is mildly irritating.- Steaming: The iron steams horizontally and vertically at the highest settings, perfect for getting deep wrinkles out of cotton and linen. The steam at will button is also a step up from our last iron.- Dripping: The iron occasionally drips while steaming (video attached), which lengthens the ironing time because you have to go over the area dripped upon multiple times. I think the Anti-Drip feature of this iron is defined by not dripping at lower temperatures?Overall, this iron surpasses our last iron by a mile, but can still be improved upon.

Heavier and longer than I wanted
I have a mini iron I love but wanted to do some sewing projects – so I thought I’d get a more standard but lighter weight iron. This iron is nice looking and I prefer the stainless steel base. (My mini is non stick and don’t know if that’s great for long use). However it’s heavier than I thought it would be and much longer. So not sure if this iron would be good for anyone with arthritis or fibro. And the length seems like this will be awkward to maneuver for pressing seams.Edit – updated to 5 stars. The iron is nice to use but still a caution about the weight and size. Surprisingly this did bother my elbow or shoulder but instead has been painful for my wrist. Not enough to not use it but the iron really isn’t ackward to handle and does a good job even on lower settings. The water sloshes around in the tank and that is a bit weird. I have a hard time seeing the water level in the tank too.

I’ve only used it a few times since purchase, but so far so good! My only feedback to the manufacturer would be about the retractable cord. It’s a great feature, but I think the mechanics need to be improved a little bit. Typically, it reacts most of the way, but not all the way – about 8-10” is left outside the iron.

not at all happy with this iron. It leaks water quite badly. It was pooling under the iron and I had to keep wiping up the water from the ironing board. Returned after one use. Do not recommend this product.
