How to Connect a Soundbar to TV with an Optical Cable
Find optical audio OUT on your TV and optical audio IN on your soundbar. Insert one end of the optical cable to the TV (optical OUT) and the other into the soundbar (Optical IN). Note: Remove the protective cover on the ends of the cord before use.
Select the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) output.
Different TVs may display different setting words. Choose Digital or Optical or similar words in the sound setting.
Optical cables have a red light at both ends that ensure the connectivity and if you are seeing the red light, that means you have the connection at both end and the cable should be working fine.

Works with a Bose Lifestyle AV28
The quality of this fiber optic cable is solid and durable. I’ve purchased other fiber optic cables in the past and they didn’t work with my Bose Lifestyle AV28 media center. This cable definitely works and if you have a Bose media center I would get this one.

Quality product arrived on time. Rotating heads were the trick I needed to make the connection work. After several turns and tries I used a wooden toothpick to push in the outlet flap to see the shape needed to turn the rotating head in order to seat it properly. Worked like a charm and has not fallen out like my other cords. A great buy!!!!

Works pretty well. “Ticking” static can be heard, though.
I always used HDMI but recently bought an older amplifier without HDMI so I needed this optical cable.This item is made in China and I didn’t really expect much. The quality of the product is OK. The twisting neck part is a little loose. When connected to the devices, the sounds come out well then “ticking” static can be heard frequently. It’s annoying. Very. I wanted to return it but then I noticed that when the BluRay Player is playing there is no static. Only during the Amazon prime movies, Hulu, Disney+ creates the static. Then maybe it’s the WIFI connection thing… which isn’t the cable’s fault. Anyway, I am not sure and I will just live with it. But I will never buy these cables again. HDMI never had these problems.

So far, so good
I’m not a big audio person, so I can’t offer much of a detailed take here. My TV is a bit older and lacks eARC, so I picked up an optical cable to use with the sound bar I finally decided to get (if you’re on the fence, you should definitely get one—it is absolutely an improvement). The cable works as advertised and I’ve noticed no issues with sound for the couple months I’ve been using it. It’s been a very solid buy for me.If going for a shorter length cable like I did, though, be careful that you’re getting your measurements right. Mine are just exactly right, luckily, but coming up even a half an inch short would’ve been a problem otherwise. Getting it right, though, has been excellent for cable management.
