Your home office needs a printer that’s fast, affordable, and easy to use. That’s why we developed the EcoTank ET-4800 – an innovative cartridge-free solution that uses high-capacity, easily refillable ink tanks. So you’ll worry less about running out of ink, and save a lot on replacement ink (1). The ET-4800 features genuine Epson print quality, an auto document feeder, fax, a high-resolution flatbed scanner, and convenient color display – making it the perfect basic home office printer. Epson strongly recommends the use of genuine ink to ensure optimal print quality and performance. Use of non-genuine ink could cause damage not covered under the printer’s ltd. wnty. | 1. Actual savings and costs will vary considerably based on print tasks, print volumes and usage conditions. Savings and cost per ISO page are based on the cost of replacement ink bottles and the cost of enough standard cartridges to achieve the total page yields of the bottles using the MSRP (USD) and yields for Epson standard-capacity ink cartridges for similarly featured Epson consumer inkjet printers as of March 2024. | 2. Individual cartridges estimate based on print yields of an included or replacement set of black and color ink bottles as compared to Epson standard-capacity ink cartridges for similarly featured printers as of March 2024. | 3. Part of the ink from the included bottles is used for initial setup; yields are lower than those of replacement ink bottles. Replacement and included ink bottle yields based on the ISO/IEC 24712 pattern with Epson’s methodology. Actual ink yields will vary considerably for reasons including images printed, print settings, temperature and humidity. Yields may be lower when printing infrequently or predominantly with one ink color. All ink colors are used for printing and printer maintenance, and all colors must be available for printing. For more information, visit www.epson.com/inkinfo | 4. Based on average monthly document print volumes of about 125 pages. | 5. See www.epson.com/voice for device compatibility. Epson Connect account and voice-activated account registration required. | 6. Most features require an Internet connection to the printer, as well as an Internet- and/or email-enabled device. Great Printer with no Annoying Ink Subscription!
Note: This printer came with the oddest packing materials I’ve ever seen in my life. And you do NOT want to step on one of these late at night! It makes a LEGO brick underfoot feel good! The Epson EcoTank ET-4800 is a breath of fresh air in a world dominated by frustrating ink subscriptions and overpriced cartridges. Instead of forcing you into a monthly payment plan just to keep your printer functional, Epson gives you a massive ink reservoir that you refill yourself—no hidden fees, no sneaky auto-renewals, just straightforward printing.Performance & Print QualityFor a home or small office printer, the ET-4800 delivers solid performance. The print quality is crisp for documents, and while it’s not a professional photo printer, it handles color prints well enough for most everyday needs. The scanner works smoothly, and the automatic document feeder (ADF) is a nice bonus for scanning multiple pages.Ease of Use & SetupSetting up the printer is refreshingly simple. Filling the ink tanks is surprisingly mess-free, and once you’re up and running, you won’t be constantly swapping out tiny, overpriced cartridges. Epson includes a generous amount of ink in the box—enough to last thousands of pages—which is a game-changer compared to traditional inkjet models.Cost EfficiencyThis is where the ET-4800 really shines. The upfront cost is higher than a standard inkjet, but you quickly recoup that with the absurdly low cost per page. The ink bottles are much cheaper in the long run than cartridges, and you’re not held hostage by a subscription service just to keep printing.Potential DrawbacksIt’s not the fastest printer on the market, and the lack of duplex printing (automatic double-sided) is a small inconvenience. The display screen is tiny and not touchscreen, so navigating menus can feel a bit outdated. But if you’re prioritizing cost savings and reliability over bells and whistles, these are minor trade-offs.Final VerdictThe Epson EcoTank ET-4800 is a fantastic option for anyone tired of the traditional inkjet printer racket. No subscriptions, no constant cartridge swaps—just a reliable, cost-effective printer that does what it’s supposed to do. If you print regularly and want to save money (and frustration) in the long run, this is one of the best choices out there.

Recommend home stuff printer so far
Epson EcoTank ET-4800I just got this to replace an Epson WF-4830 that got bricked trying to revert firmware after update with 3rd party ink stopped working. I basically bought this because I can add 3rd party ink to it without as much risk/fear.It was easy to setup. It connected to WIFI quickly. Adding ink was very easy as well. You just unscrew the top, turn upside down and lightly push it into each tank nozzle. No ink spills. Stops before overfilling. The app connects and I can print easily from my phone or PC. Ink levels are shown in the app and physically in the front of it.I’ve not used the scanner/copier yet.Only negatives so far is price (a bit more $$ up front), very small LCD screen, does not have a flat tray for paper, you place paper in the back of it sticking out like printers from years ago. I have read you shouldn’t leave this for a long time and not print that can dry up/cause issue? Good to keep in mind. Also, it can’t print gif files, I have to convert to jpg but easy enough. It says 4,500 pages per ink bottle which I highly doubt but even if not close, ink is a fraction of the price. The print quality is pretty good, but I wouldn’t print photographs. I needed for docs signing sometimes and mostly for kids school stuff.

Epson customer service was not helpful — plus, bad quality color print!
I work from home, I have my own business. I have always used HP printers my whole life. But the quality of those printers keeps getting worse and worse over the years! I have brochures, labels and packing slips to print all the time. My HP printer (the reason I purchased this Epson) kept printing my tri-fold brochures off centered. If I printed 10 at a time, 5+ of them would be off centered. I kept getting angrier and angrier!! hahaha. No joke, I had a lot of anger toward an inanimate object. So, I researched consumer reports, and one of the biggest things I wanted in my new printer was DOUBLE SIDED PRINT! This doesn’t have automatic double sided print, but in the parametric search I did with the features I wanted, this was included in it.Every single printer, by default, can do MANUAL double sided print. So that isn’t even a feature. But yet, I didn’t know until I reached out to Epson customer support to ask them out to do the feature. They didn’t know off the top of their heads that it couldn’t be done!! WHAT???Anyway, the second issue I have is that the print quality sucks. It lacks vibrancy. I print labels for my jars and bottles and compared to my previous ones, the ones I printed with this printer were dull, dim, lacking quality. But yet here is literally word for word what I read on the product listing:”Impressive Print Quality ― Unique Micro Piezo Heat-Free Technology produces sharp text – plus impressive color photos and graphics – on virtually any paper type”Definitely not impressive graphics! No way. This is a lie.I would give zero stars if possible. Negative stars, even, since their customer service was so awful.I am returning the printer because it didn’t live up to what it said. This next time I am trying a Brother printer. A super cheap one. I will see how that works.

Decent performance printer. Bought on a daily deal. Not disappointed. Photo printing was as expected from Epson. Some partners, trays etc seems a bit flimsy though. Time will tell.

I purchased this printer to replace a HP inkjet printer. I thought that the mega tank and other features would satisfy my needs. I liked the mega tank feature, I wouldn’t have to be replacing ink cartridges like the HP printer. What I didn’t like about the Epson ET 4800 printer was the lack of duplex printing and scanning to email or memory stick (usb), features that should be standard on all printers by now.
