I did not get this for drinks or cosmetics. I got this because I am disabled and once my son leaves for work my dinner is sometimes lacking simple things like condiments or butter for bread. I have a small microwave and he puts my dinner in there. He put my salad in the fridge with the dressing, tomato, butter, and even ca small container of creamer for my coffee. The fridge is not big and does not hold a lot. It holds enough for me for my dinner and coffee. Putting this in the bathroom allows me to push the button on the door for a nightlight as well.The little shelf on the door is good for holding things like cheese sticks or such if you like to munch on those.I can imagine that during the summer it would feel very good have cold skin care products to use. That would probably be rather refreshing.I had no problem opening or closing the door. No different than opening the big refrigerator/freezer doors but this was lighter.The fridge does not use a compressor so the temperature around the fridge plays a big part in how cool the food in the fridge will be. It is very lightweight and does not take up very much room. The measurements given in the description are pretty spot on.It was incredibly easy to set up. Just took it out of the box and plugged it in. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED….
Well, honestly I ordered this to set on my workstation at my job, but it is larger than expected. I’ve seen these “mini” refrigerators offline and I thought this would be the same size as others. Nope! This mini fridge seems to be quite a bit bigger, so I’d never get it to fit the limited amount of space remaining on the workstation at the job.Since it is too big to take to work I’ve moved it into an extra room in my house, my “She Shelter” which is sometimes used to gather with the ladies when they come over. Now, I will be able to keep cold drinks conveniently located without having to go into the kitchen when the ladies are visiting. Yay!When I first plugged this into the wall I put a small juice glass of hot water in it and left it for 30 minutes. After I returned to check the glass the water temperature had not changed much at all; it was still very warm. I left it and came back about five hours later and it was nice and chilled.This mini fridge is much better than what I expected…I am pleased! And, since I have a thing for white boards and acrylic boards, the door on this mini fridge was right up my alley! I doubt that I will ever use this in the car while traveling, but I think it’s very cool that it comes with two types of cords. After all, who doesn’t like options…right?

I rate this a 5-star item, primarily because it works as designed and the design is attractive. Functionally, however, I am not a huge fan now that I now its limitations. It does work well, but doesn’t claim to work as I had originally thought. I can see using this in a hot car to travel from the store to the house with items that need to remain chilled. Now that I know it is not intended to chill an already warm item, I have to modify my expectations. Another thing to keep in mind, a very important thing, is that when using it in the car, it should be used only while the engine is running in order to create an unnecessary drain on the battery.Will I use this at home, keeping it plugged in all the time? Maybe, but I don’t really have a strong need for refrigerating items that are not perishable; if it’s perishable then this mini fridge is not the fridge for that. My stronger need is in the car and this works, as designed, with some limitations that prevent me from using extensively.

Does the job but has some design points that make it impractical
This is a “thermoelectric cooler,” not a “refrigerator.”What does this mean? It means it utilizes the “Peltier Effect” to reduce the temperature rather than a compressor and refrigerant.So what’s the difference? The Peltier effect is inefficient compared to a system that uses a compressor.This cooler will use a more electricity than a mini-fridge and the coolest temperature you can reach is directly dependent on the ambient temperature and humidity. If you are outside and it is 100 degrees, don’t expect to get much cooler than MAYBE 50 degrees. Higher humidity will mean a higher inside temperature.This little cooler is much better suited to short-term work – like keeping soda or water cold on a road trip. Plug it in to the power outlet in your car, then when you get to your hotel, plug it in to the wall outlet.The “car” thing brings up an issue: This cooler is not particularly small. It needs a lot of space around it to allow for air circulation and the fans run constantly. If you’ve got this in your vehicle, it needs to be in a spot that it has airflow. Given its large size, this may be impractical for smaller vehicles. (If you happen to be a delivery truck driver, this may be perfect for you.)Another thing to be aware of is that the constantly running fans may annoy you in a hotel situation. On the other hand, they may behave as a “white noise” machine that keeps your drinks cold. Your mileage may vary.In the end, it’s a little too large to be convenient for simple day-trips and the technology utilized means it’s not practical for long-term use in a bedroom (unless you don’t pay for the electricity).If you DO have a use-case for a thermoelectric cooler this size, then I’d recommend it because it does do well in the right conditions.
