The Dishwasher Heating Element heats the water during the dishwashing cycle and helps dry the dishes at the end of the cycle. If the appliance is no longer cleaning or drying your dishes as expected, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. The heating element is located on the underside of the dishwasher, so it is recommended to remove the entire dishwasher from the cabinet when replacing it. When installing the element, ensure that you use the existing brackets to lift it up so that it does not touch the dishwasher tub. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, such as a multi-screwdriver, a 5/8″ wrench, a 5/16″ nut driver, and a 3/4″ wrench, along with some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience. Before installing this high-quality replacement part, remember to unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker to ensure safety. Also, make sure to turn off the water supply under the sink. Helpful Tips: 1. The door springs of the dishwasher may also need inspection and replacement during this installation. 2. We also recommend using affresh® Dishwasher Cleaner (item W10282479) to help reduce limescale and mineral build-up, which can be unsightly and affect your dishwasher’s performance. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.

    Perfect fit for whirlpool wdt730pahz
Works good so far. Look up the 123,123,123 reset when completing the replacement. Dishwasher power to the element will be locked out if water wasn’t seen when element was turned on, or other failure occurred.

the heating element didn’t work but I think when the old one burned out it took the control board as well so not the fault of this product.

    Dry dishes finally!! Works great!
I installed this heating coil in my Whirlpool WDF520PADM5 dishwasher about a month ago and it is working great. My dishwasher finally heat dries my dishes!! The part was very easy to install with the help of a couple of YouTube videos. Don’t be intimidated to DIY and save yourself $400. I have no plumbing or electrical skills or experience whatsoever and was able to do it in an hour by myself (35 years old, female, artist). Make sure to reset the dishwasher from the front panel after install. Someone else left a review of the sequence of buttons to press to reset.

    It’s back working, or was.
Update:Same thing has happened again, worked great for a few months and now this element is burnt out too. Back to dirty, wet dishes. I’m not a repair man so I can’t say for sure it’s the elements fault 100% but I am pretty sure it is. I really was hoping it would last longer. Waisted money. I won’t buy anything whirlpool anymore.Original post:My dishwasher was getting the dishes wet but they were coming out dirty. I don’t remember how to use a voltage/Ohm meter so I chose to just guess that this was the part that wasn’t working. My original one had a few small spots of rust but nothing obvious to say it had stopped working. I turned off the electricity breaker, pulled my dishwasher out from the counter, undidthe electrical wires and leaned the dishwasher over to get to the bottom. I unscrewed two plastic cap nuts, set the dishwasher back upright. Removed the old element and replaced it with the new. Rescrewed the two plastic nuts under the bottom that hold it in place , pushed dishwasher back in , reconnected the wiring and turned back on the electricity. Took me about 30 minutes, maybe a little less. It works great, dishes are clean.
