Perfect for a small space
I don’t have much extra space and the thought about trying to fit an ironing board somewhere gave me anxiety. Up until recently I had no need to iron so no issue. I have decided to take on some sewing projects however and that requires quite a bit of ironing. I searched for a mini ironing board before coming upon this gem. It is perfect for the job. It folds up to fit in a drawer or on a shelf. I tried it out as soon as I got it and am very happy. My kitchen island has a quartzite top and is often the only horizontal surface not filled with stuff. It kept my quartzite completely cool while I ironed out my fabric. It is small so I had to adjust it frequently but that’s no fault of this item. In fact the size is part of the reason it’s so perfect. In short: if you have a small space and can find a horizontal surface not filled with stuff this can do the job of an ironing board

Love this, Just bought my first front load washer …
Love this, Just bought my first front load washer & dryer stainless steel set. My Laundry room in basement and have no way to attach a counter top on them. Found these mats and they fit well strong magnets hold them in place. They are nice and thick I am sure they will work well to iron on. Just using them so i do not scratch my new set. They were shipped WOW FAST. LOVE THEM

Ironing mat
The mat smelled bad when I took it out of the package. I hung it up for several days, and the smell eventually went away and has not returned even when the mat is used. I think the smell was from the plastic it was packaged in. The mat works well and is very convenient to use. The magnets stick well. I would have preferred it to be a little wider.UPDATE 9/12/14 — I purchased a second mat to give as a gift. It did not have the smell that the first one initially did.

Works for those who don’t want to buy an ironing board
I have it on top of my dryer.

Too thin
It was not as thick as I would’ve expected it to be. As well, I didn’t think it adhered to the sides as I would’ve expected. I returned it for those reasons and nothing else.

Cheap, poorly made, shop elsewhere.
I washed and dried it even before I used it, just like I always do with “fabric” products, . . . just like I do my other magnetic protective cover (I had this one for years and it still looks great. This one peeled, crack, came “undone,” and SHRUNK / shriveled, lost its form, to almost half its size. It is unsightlyand I cannot use it/ Please send me photo of skewer code so I can return it at Kohls. Please reimburse my account. Thank you. Sharon Tata

A great find!
This ironing mat works great! I don’t iron enough to get out my full-size ironing board, & this works well on my bed. I’m sure a table or other more stable surface would be even better. I’m generally just touching up sleeves & collars, flattening seams, etc. so this is just right for my purposes – large enough without being unwieldy. I purchased the Household Essentials 3131 Iron Rest for my iron, and the duo make my touching up a breeze.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018O5EQ2/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_7

Great for sewing and small articles of clothing
I sew frequently and got tired of having the ironing board up all of the time. This mat fits on a cabinet and serves as a good pressing station for most projects that I do. I have used it for a yard of fabric and when I am pressing quilt blocks and completed strips. The magnets are not a problem if you are ironing on a table top or cabinet.
