Great iron for sewing
It’s hard to find a current iron that doesn’t shut off after a few minutes. It does heat up fast, though once up to temperature this will stay hot for 1/2 hour of non-use, so I like it for sewing. The stainless steel plate easily glides over all fabrics as I’ve used it on silk, polyester, spandex, cotton and linen. The tip allows me to navigate tight areas like collars. It doesn’t have the steam power of my mom’s Rowenta but the steam is good enough and it hasn’t spit on me in steam mode for the almost 2 years I’ve had it and I prefer it over my mom’s. The surprise is how the cord moves easily which I didn’t expect, but it has made using the iron that much easier. The control knobs for heat and steam do feel cheap are are loose to the turn. Comparison the Singer feels better built than the Rowenta, but the knobs feel cheaper. It comes with a cup for water and the sprayer works like every iron, but I prefer to use a separate sprayer for better mist.

Heavy Iron, Very Nice Features
This is a solid iron. I haven’t used a heavy iron since I used my mom’s iron. The color is a nice touch. I like the design. I saw good and bad reviews, so I decided to review the instructions all the way through just to make sure I won’t miss anything. They recommend doing a Self Clean once a month to clear out build up. To use iron first time on a towel or something durable. Before adding water make sure it’s not on, unplugged. And a bunch of other common sense instructions. I like the extra long cord. The base when upright, is a nice rubber base so it won’t slide off a hard surface. They give you a measuring cup for the water, I like that. There is a dial with 3 settings, Self Clean, steam and no steam. Steam only works on 2 highest temp settings. The water door is plastic, same as the top of the iron. The water cup has a nice spout for pouring. I can see without the cup it would be easy to overfill, so I appreciate the water cup. When you plug it in, the red light comes on and blinks on the mode button. Temperature settings are easy, push mode button to go up in settings, nylon, silk, wool, cotton & linen. Directions say if you’re not sure, start with lowest setting and try that first. I tested on a cotton towel first as recommended. Then onto to a satin tank. So I switched temps from cotton down to nylon, as I had no idea what satin is. Takes awhile for the iron to cool down to a lower temp, but I was able to tell it was too low of a setting. The wrinkes didn’t come out, so I went up to Silk Temperature, which worked nicely. The temp setting will blink until ready also. I really like the soul plate, I sew alot, and like the tip of the iron with the weight, before I had to add weight when ironing because it was a light iron. This will be so much easier. I like the water spray button it casts a nice light even spray for a good amount of time. Very light mist. The steam button gives a nice blast, it only works when you are on the highest 2 settings, linen and cotton. And, you need to pause 2 seconds between pushing it. The handle has a comfortable fit. And it seems when not in use the cup fits in the handle nicely. I feel the features are good on this iron. Not my first iron, I’ve only used light weight cheap irons before. This is well made. I recommend it. Will update my review if anything changes.

Do NOT buy this piece of JUNK
Exactly one month and one year after I purchased a Singer SteamCraft 2.0 iron, the extra-stream button, upon being depressed, sank down and stayed depressed, i.e., I could no longer get any extra steam out of the iron.Because it was one month out of warranty, Susan from Singer customer service wrote me: “I am sorry but this iron has a 1 yr warranty so the warranty has expired. We are unable to help you with your iron issues. I am sorry for the inconvenience.”MY iron ISSUES?!? I don’t have “iron issues” — Singer has a problem with its product. INCONVENIENCE?!? I am not “inconvenienced” but I am out the price of the iron and I have to add another piece of junk to the landfill. In addition to dying after only a little over one year, the iron when working never put out enough steam, and by grasping the handle where one usually holds an iron, I was constantly turning the iron off.My previous Rowenta steam iron lasted 25 years, and I still have a Black & Decker Classic iron that is going strong for 40-plus years. Silly me for thinking that the Singer SteamCraft 2.0 would give me more steam for ironing and last longer than a year.Bottom line: This Singer SteamCraft 2.0 is total junk. And a total waste of money. DO NOT BUY IT.

Works Great
Heats up quickly, large water tank for steam, easy to use controls and a long cord. As a quilter, I use an iron every day. Very comfortable and presses well. Love the vintage inspired design.

Mode or setting button is too close to where you grip the iron.
The good stuff: I love the color! And the fact that it will stay hot for 30 minutes. I am a quilter, that feature is very important. There is only one other iron that does this on the market at three times the cost. However, here are some issues. The bad stuff: It doesn’t seem to get very hot. I mostly iron on the cotton setting but I have to put the iron on the linen setting which is the highest. Also, when the iron does shut off after 30 minutes, you have to turn it back on by NOT picking up the iron, but touching the lighted mode button first. If you don’t, the mode button does not light up and there is no way to set the temperature. You then have to unplug the iron the get it to reset correctly. But the thing the that is mostly frustrating is the mode button is flush with the iron handle and is located very close to where you grip the iron. So, the example, I will set the iron on cotton and be ironing away, and notice the iron is now set on warm, or no temperature at all because my hand touched the setting mode. The is very annoying!!! So unfortunately, I will be returning the iron.
