We’ve had our new blender for about a week and I already love it. My son likes to make protein shakes and we’ve used a little wand mixer and then a little $20 personal blender that actually lasted longer than expected. But I wanted something a bit heftier that we could do more with. This one is great, not too big & easy to clean. And after my teen dropped the container in the sink this morning without it shattering I knew this was a good buy. I seem to have some trouble getting the cover on just right so I just make sure to hold it on when I use it. I do wish the spout on the cover was closer to the lip but that’s my only complaint.

It’s ok. I like the fact it’s made of glass. But it take some extra stirring due to it not being strong enough to grab the ice.

Works great, but lid is very difficult to use
This blender is quiet, works well for smoothies, and is easy to clean. It has a pour spout on the lid that is a nice feature. However, unless the lid is put on exactly straight it will not secure. You have to match up the front portion of the lid to the glass pour spout, press the front down into the groove of the pour spout on the glass, then press down on the back of the lid (which is a tight fit) until it clearly snaps into place. If you don’t do this, you run the risk of having liquid shoot out all over your countertop. I speak from experience. The lid is a bad design, but the blender works great and it’s much quieter than the one we had before. It’s also $100 less expensive than the fancy Hamilton Beach quiet model, so it’ a keeper for us, although we have to be careful how we use it. It would be 5 stars if it had a regular lid.

I got this to replace a better-looking one, but had been EXTREMELY loud. I was drawn to this specifically since it was said to be “quieter” and runs at a lower-pitch volume than my previous one and blends appropriately, having different blending options. The jar is thick and sturdy, and is easy to disassemble, clean and assemble, having few parts. I have had no issues with so far. My only downside was that I had wanted a different color option other than in black, but oh well, that does not affect the function of.

Use for making smoothies and works great

I’ve been using this Hamilton Beach blender for six months now. It’s super easy to use and equally easy to clean by hand; and it serves my light-duty blending needs. I emphasize light-duty, although I use the appliance every other day. My ingredients have never included anything challenging, like ice cubes, frozen fruit, or more fibrous fresh fruits or veggies. I mix only five ingredients: water, 1 sliced banana, protein powder, plain yogurt and soy milk. Even so, if I let the total amount exceed 825ml, the ingredients don’t mix as well. Above 1L, it’s worse. For me, that’s not a problem because I’ve no need normally to exceed those limits. For others, who are depending on the 1.4L capacity and expecting full mixture of more challenging ingredients, I’d think about getting another Hamilton-Beach model. I still recommend Hamilton-Beach because of their practice of offering five-year warranties on their products.

I purchased and used this mainly for making smoothies and crushing ice. It broke after 1 month of use and the black plastic on the inside broke and spat out small pieces of plastic when I blended some oat meals. I had to throw them out because I didnt want the risk of having those small black plastic pieces in my food. It also gets very hot easily when it is used to blend food. It is better to buy stainless steel blender. I’m disappointed with this brand, especially with the high price. I expect better quality and make.
