    A really nice iron
I’ve used a bunch of irons in my life. Most irons do indeed manage to get hot and beat out wrinkles. Sure. But this one gets hot faster, beats out wrinkles better, and feels better in the hand. It feels like a nice, USA designed product and it makes ironing more effective and more pleasant. I wouldn’t suggest going any cheaper if you depend upon sharply pressed clothes for a professional work life or have a serious sewing pastime.

    works great
my Rowenta iron sprung a leak and dribbled water, so bought this partially as an “emergency buy” after quickly reading some online review (Wirecutter). wow. this irons out wrinkles significantly easier and faster than my old Rowenta which cost more! it has very generous steam coming out, heats up quickly, long-ish shut-off (I quilt, and my Rowenta shut off too fast which was really annoying) so I don’t have to keep uprighting while ironing a huge quilt top or making a long bias tape. it takes a bit getting used to the electronic setting and because of it, it lacks “fine adjustment” of temperature but so far i haven’t felt the need to get to in-between temp settings yet (I just stack few layers of cotton fabric if I don’t want to overheat synthetics). Overall, very pleased with this pruchase.

    Chia Iron Delivers Great Performance
Finally a steam iron that does NOT spit brown staining water, does NOT leak from the bottom, provides a high level of steam and lasts more than 9 months. In will never buy another Rowenta brand. This Chia iron is the best performance I have found for under $150.

    Excellent Upgrade
It was time to replace the 10 year old Sunbeam and this iron kept popping up in non-Amazon reviews. I love this iron! Perfect for my sewing projects! So much better than the old Sunbeam. Filling it with water does require you to lay it flat, but it’s no big deal. It holds twice the amount of water than the old Sunbeam, and it uses water twice as fast too….that’s why it works so well! Was able to iron about 2 1/2 yards of fabric before I had to refill it.

    Nice Iron
Iron does its job very well. Cord is nice and long. While the retractable cord works and is a nice feature, it’s rather finicky. Water reservoir fills while laying the iron flat – not standing. I initially thought this was a little inconvenient until I realized it’s really easy to fill directly from a faucet this way. This iron gets very hot and really pumps out the steam. Of course, this means more frequent fillings, but it’s what you want an iron to do and as i said, it works very well. Nice and smooth.

    Best Steam Iron Ever
I’d never heard of this brand, but it was the top recommended steam iron on Wirecutter. They were right – it’s a great iron. I’m a quilter/crafter and frequent fabric and clothes ironer. This iron is better than either of my two previous (now leaking and unreliable) Rowenta irons. The steam function on the CHI is so good that there’s no need to use the boost of steam function. The cord pulls out and retracts smoothly and easily, and the 30 minute automatic shut-off time is perfect for the back and forth between my sewing machine and the iron – the 6 minute before shut-off on the Rowenta was too short. The CHI is a fair price for an iron this good for someone who irons a lot. I believe this model is discontinued, but there are still some left on Amazon, and Wirecutter says the next model of this one is just as good.

    Outstanding
We always purchased a well known very long word iron that never lasted very long. We purchased one of these years ago. It fell off the board repeatedly, still works like a pro. This was purchased for a guest room and works just as well.

    Don’t buy!
I bought this iron 2 years ago, it worked well and I liked it, 9 days shy of the 2 years, it totally died, no lights, no heat, nothing. It has 2 years warranty and I had 9 days that the iron was still under that warranty. I called the customer service number provided in the booklet that came with it and all what I got was “no agent is available to take your call, please call back later.” I called several times during the day and got the same response. I looked up CHI customer service number and it was different than the one in the booklet, I called and they told me that the iron is made by Hamilton Beach and I have to call them, they gave me the same number that I have been calling already and getting no response. I tried the next day and nothing again. So I called CHI again and they gave me an email address to send my complaint. I sent an email and got a response that due to high demand “ please allow 2 weeks for us to response!!”I have never heard anything like this when there is no one to talk to you on the phone( I would have been fine being on hold for an hour, but even that was not available) and they will take the 2 WEEKS to get back to me.I went a bought another iron from another store and I flushed $100 down the drain.

This is a very good iron, love the retractable AC cord. It’ s a bit heavier than other brands, but effective. Good quality built, lot of steam.

Es una maravilla. Plancha súper bien, tiene diferentes temperaturas según el tipo de tela. Tiene un sensor para que te alerte si la dejas boca abajo prendida y que no se queme la ropa.
