Crashed my older printer using cheap refills
Seems to be GREAT for my home use……very quiet and super duper fast printing. Works better than my printer at work and I’m sure the office pays $$$ for it and it’s always needing service. Wifi, setup was pretty much just plug and play since I previously had an older HP printer. It’s hard wired and blutooth connected ….works flawlessly .

    Expensive toner but wonderful prints
Very fast scans on glass, FAST full duplex scans for items on the ADF. Wife is very happy with quality of the prints. Only drawbacks are the cost of the toner but when I looked at the alternatives they were close to the same cost and ADF scans are limited to 300DPI – if you are scanning black/white text that is enough but may not be the same for all situations.

    Updated Review: Printer Absolute Garbage
Final updated Review (10-1-24). The printer has once again given us the “paper jam” error code when there is in fact no paper jam. After a little over a year of barely using the printer, It is going in the garbage. We are not wasting anymore time on this printer and we are just going to replace it.Another updated Review. I will keep coming back to update this review each time I have an issue with the printer. I have had this printer for slightly over a year and I 100% have buyers remorse. There is a known issue with an electrical part and the only way to fix it is to have HP send you a refurb or have a tech come out and replace it with a refurb part. The tech that replaced the broken part used an old and dirty replacement part that now leaves all of my printing pages with giant streaks that we cannot figure out how to get rid of. In addition, today it has started making this god awful screeching noise when it prints. I purchased this printer when it was still at full price it has been the worse purchase of my life.Updated Review: DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER. This printer is absolute garbage. In the 40 years I have lived on this Earth, this purchase has been one of my biggest regrets. And that’s saying something because I’ve made a lot of stupid financial mistakes in my life. I have had the printer for less then a year and now it is unusable. I had a paper jam in the printer so I cleared everything. The printer is stuck thinking it has a paper jam when there is not. An HP tech came out to inspect and the tech informed me there is a part that is known to fail in these printers and the only solution is to replace it with a refurb. I got the refurb in and I made two copies on it. By the 3rd copy the paper jammed and guess what….it no longer works. I will have to start the entire warranty claim all over again and wait to get another tech out to have it swapped with another refurb. At this point we are just SOL in getting any sort of refund for the printer or the toner we just purchased. I repeat. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER.Old Review: The printer itself is a vast improvement from my old printer in terms of quality and performance. It runs smooth, quiet, and its pretty damn fast. The software however makes me want to launch this thing into the sun. It more or less does what it wants regardless of what settings you have in place. Does it print double sided? Absolutely. Does it print double sided when you ask it to? Who knows, maybe it will, maybe it won’t. Does it scan front and back? You bet it does! However it will only scan front and back in document mode and it cuts off half the page. And I know what you are thinking “oh that’s an easy fix, just change the settings!” Guess again because changing the settings don’t matter. If you have the patience of a saint, this printer will do the job. If you aren’t tech savvy or if you have the little to no patience, you might want to try another model. Or get someone in IT to set it up for you….maybe a priest.TLDR: Do not buy this printer. Has known issues that are reoccurring. Buy something else.

    Very satisfied
Have had this printer for ten months now and it has worked flawlessly, and it’s fast. Print quality is perfect. We’re a small business and still using same cartridges that came with it. In fact that’s how I have come to write this review, I was going through my orders to find out what Ink cartridges I needed to order.

    Great Multifunction Home/Small Business Laser
Lasers have come a long way since the compact car-sized monochrome business lasers of yesteryear. And HP has been in the forefront of development of laser printing technology, with literally dozens of models for home/business applications. This model is a good example of their desktop line of lasers. Remarkably svelte for what it does (although it does weigh over 50 pounds) – ten years ago this type of printer would have been on wheels, with it’s own room and IT staff. And it does everything – automatic duplex printing, scanning and copying, fax with a phone bypass, 28 ppm output, monochrome or full color (and HP has some of the best color profiles in the business), multiple paper weights (HP has a full line of light and heavy weight plain and photo laser papers), finishes and input options (accessories available for tray expansion up to 550 sheets) – truly business-friendly. It’s a do-everything laser printer. Setup was relatively easy (more below), the built-in LED screen is fast and intuitive, with a galaxy of setup/input options), and it’s fairly quiet for a laser. Monochrome text is crisp and high resolution, and even larger (8×10) photos print at an acceptable 600×600 dpi with perfect color matching. Not bad. It’s also economical, in spite of the Bentley cost of laser toner cartridges – standard replacements are north of $100 each, and a full set (4) of high-yield cartridges will set you back, shipping and tax, on the near side of $1,000 – the standard toner cartridges are good for over 2,000 pages, and high-yield around 6,000. As a comparison, a standard business inkjet cartridge ($40) will yield 300-400 pages realistically, between clearing dry cartridges and cleaning printer heads, for a best cost of about .10 per page (it can get worse, because you may need to toss out cartridges that have dried out and are unusable – if you print full color brochures or photos with your inkjet infrequently you may pay over .25 per page). A high yield toner cartridge ($230+) will yield 6,000 pages, for a best cost of .04 per page (standard cartridges will cost per page about the same). For high volume business printing, your finance department will tell you it’s a no-brainer. For home use, toner cartridges are pricey, but will require no maintenance, can be left in the printer unused for weeks and will still print perfectly, and will yield the full rated number of pages. The only thing a laser won’t do compared to an inkjet is print large format, high resolution photos on graphic arts photo paper – for this you need a dedicated inkjet, warts and all.As far as the setup mentioned above, my first printer arrived DOA – two screens into the setup the onboard LED read “Printer Failure.” HP online support seemed to be under the impression I had a different printer, and continually provided instructions that didn’t apply to this printer, so ultimately we declared the printer bricked. Amazon shipped out a new printer ASAP, which went through the setup perfectly. Could be shipping – HP laser printers don’t like their innards shaken- or could be a manufacturing defect. Stuff happens. I should also mention that HP printer construction is not quite as robust as some rivals – thinner plastic and hinges, more movable bits – but overall fine for light business or home use, and does come with onsite support from HP for a time. If you’re a small business, this printer does everything you need, economically, with HP’s expansive universal support network available. If you’re currently a home user with an inkjet on your desk, you might take a longer look at this one if you’re thinking of the switch to lasers – long-term, it will serve you as well, with less fiddling and maintenance, and even though supplies are costlier on the front end, it really is no more expensive and likely even cheaper for general printing needs, with faster and better output. Recommended.

    It works beautifully!
It works great. I can now use copies on the second page, whereas my old HP laserjet which uses ony 1 page to print and then you would have to go to the next page so thats 2 sheets of paper. I use less copy paper this way. It works beautifully.

    Exactly what I needed
My other HP printer died and I opted to get a laser printer this time for my business. I have really enjoyed using this printer. I have had no problems out of it and I’ve had it for about 6 months.
