Large Characters, Fast Action, Nice Sounds, Multiple Games
This game met all expectations I had for a worthy successor to a recently deceased Pocket Poker one. The display characters were, as advertised, large and easily readable. The play action is fast and responsive, allowing the user to cut short the winning sound effects and go on to the next hand. The sound effects, when played, are through a substantial (1″ dia) speaker and reasonably pleasant to listen to. Similarly, the buttons are also large and widely spaced, allowing accurate interaction with the game. All this comes at a price, however. The unit is larger than “pocket-sized”, perhaps more “coat-pocket-sized”. This was accurately specified in the Amazon listing, so not unexpected. A person with large hands could possibly play one-handed, but for normal humans, two hands are required for stability.Seven games are offered in the unit, but I have a strong preference for straight draw poker and only played that option. The odds are posted on the rear of the shell, but require a magnifying glass to read due to small type and poor contrast. In draw poker, a flush pays 5 to 1, a full house 8 to 1 and a royal flush 1000 to 1.I am quite happy with the game, having bought three of them at what I considered to be a bargain price.

Good games with a couple annoyances
My wife loves video poker and the games seem to work well.Nice screen size and easy to use (except as noted below).Color would be nice to have for easier suit detection. There are a couple annoyances.1. After each hand, it automatically resets the bet to 10. It does not lock in your betting level like real machines do. So, you either just always play it with a bet of 10 or you hold down the DEAL button to increment bet by 10’s up to a max of 50 for each hand.2. It has a MAX BET button that bets 50 BUT, it does not cause an automatic deal like real machines do. So, you have to press MAX BET and then DEAL.

Cute little distraction
Love the little winning tune the most. I can get addicted via the rewarding tune “I’m in the money” alone. Easy to learn, fast acting little distraction. Old school fun.

The byttons are a little stiff but they work
I had something similar years ago, but they were a lot smaller. I still have one, but its not working great. They are a fun bathroom diversion! Some people have bathroom books, I have this. What can I say. Great size for the counter.

Just wanted a simple handheld poker game
I’m please with this handheld poker game. Honestly, I didn’t check the dimensions of the product but was happily pleased it is larger than my previous one. One downfall, there isn’t a backlight for better viewing at my age, but I’m pretty happy with it. ❤️ that I can turn the annoying sounds OFF.

John N. Hansen megascreen poker. While my father was in hospital this game was a huge help. Finding these little handhelds locally used to be so easy but I suppose smart phone games really killed that. The cards and suits are very legible, definitely more detailed then what you would get from a calculators seven-segment display. Sound is binary, either on or off, and it is loud, with those piercing beeps like a smoke detector. A piece of tape over the speaker hole can help, but my father found the volume and indications very useful. He had some trouble reading the “HOLD” label under each card but the sound of hitting each hold button was a fantastic indicator. He’s in his mid 70’s, familiar with video poker but not other forms of digital poker (computer, PSP, gameboy) and he got the hang of this almost immediately. Its not cheap, but it is exactly what we needed. I definitely recommend.

Bought for my super senior mother. Typical of the old style hand held game, simple to use and was perfect for my 93 year old mom. Nice and big, easy to read.

Can’t be without this fun hand held poker game – I compete with my husband twice every day to see who wins the day, fun. They don’t last too long though, so I hope they strengthen up the inner quality.
