So worth it!!
I got this drone after trying several others tht were similar and I couldn’t believe how different it was! I was literally on my last edge of spending my money on drones, I’m so glad I found this one! It’s so easy to assemble, it’s super fast! But not too fast to be outta control. It’s much more durable then others and the design is simple but unique… I LOVE this drone

Syma Intro Beginner Drone
I like to test out new products on the drone market to see if the controllers and drones are easy to control and any difficulties I have as an experienced drone flyer. The positives:Assembly was super easy, any child over the age of 7 could assemble this drone, everything just pushes in place and secures with an audible click.Easy to connect to controller and easy to get started flying.Comes with extra parts, as a beginner you will likely smash into stuff, so extra parts is always nice.Fun to fly, easy to adjust to the controller, fun lights, flies well indoors but be careful with fans and flying outdoors really make sure the breeze is non existent.Negative:The controller uses 4 AAA batteries, these are not included. I really wish these companies would develop rechargeable controllers, but for the price this is understandable. Battery life on the drone is kind of not the market standard. It comes with two batteries but you will use those up quick.Overall:Great beginner drone for you or your kids. Easy to fly, easy to assemble.

Battery swapping is a pain….
Our 8 yr old grandson got the XC440 drone for Christmas. I have flown drones for about 6 yrs, so I’m fairly accustomed to them. Drone arrives in very nice packaging and is easily re-packed for storage. Not much assembly needed except to put the propeller guards on, which is optional. They’re easily removable also. But they snap in easily & as long as you instruct the newby pilot on which way is “up” for the guards, all is good. Drone comes with 2 batteries and 1 charger. You have to search a bit to find the charging port on the battery, but it may help to have really good eyesight or magnifying glasses. It’s just a little hole and marked as “chg” in tiny-tiny letters. One end of the charge cord is a standard USB connector, but the other end is only a small cylindrical probe insert in that tiny hole in the battery. Finally figured it out though OK. The USB connector lights up to RED when charging, but when fully charged there is no light. So, if red, then charging, when no light it’s either charged or something else might be wrong. OK…got 2 batteries charged. The battery is square shaped & it needs to be studied a bit to figure out proper orientation to insert it into the drone body. I decided to use a white paint pen to mark proper orientation on the battery & body of drone to help out the grandson. Now the big hangup….there are 2 little-itty-bitty clip locks to move to get the battery out of the drone, or back in. One of these little locks were hard for Grandma or Grampa to operate (still have excellent finger control!) and all but impossible for the grandson to move properly & insert the battery. Very hard job removing/replacing battery.Real battery life is about 9-10 minutes of indoor flying doing average flying with a few stunts. Drone will nicely signal you with beep & flashing lights when it’s battery is running low. Then it will auto-land. But remember, no gps so it’s going to auto-land wherever it’s at.The drone was very easy for the beginner to fly. He caught on quick to controller actions needed. It would be nice if the 4 buttons on the controller were color-coded so as to reference them in explanations to the 8 yr old. Drone flips nicely front to rear or side to side. After a few flights I decided we needed to get another battery & charger to better hold their interest. Charging a low battery can take up to 30 minutes each. But, finding another battery on Amazon was impossible. Had to go to sellers website & ask about one. But, they were slow to respond. But, when they did it was easy to see and order another battery(s) and charger. Actually, if you look and think about it, it seemed almost as economical to buy another drone that will come with 2 batteries & another charger, plus now you have lots of spare parts.Remember that weird plug I mentioned that inserts in battery to charge? It’s also very fragile. A misguided slip of the wrist snapped the little plug off while in the battery. Picks & tweezers finally got it out to salvage the battery, but not the charger wire. So….back to the sellers website to buy another charger. I keep all batteries charged for him & feel it takes 2 chargers to get it done & keep him flying.Overall, I’d say it’s a very good flying drone for a beginner using it indoors. Inclement weather hasn’t allowed us to fly outside yet. We’ll see how that goes.
