Great compact printer for basic tasks at an excellent price.
First off, the “What’s in the Box” blurb on the page that I ordered from was incorrect: the printer does not come with a CD or a USB cable. It does come with the two necessary ink cartridges: one for color and one for black. That said, the CD is really not necessary, and I purchased a USB cable from Amazon for $8.99 which was delivered the next day.Setup was simple, following the very clear and easy instructions. Going online to 123.hp.com gets you to the software download, accomplished quickly in simple steps. I opted out of the automatic ink option, since this is a printer that will not be used frequently. After the connections and setup were done, the single test page printed, in color, very quickly. I also printed a page that was simply text – it printed very quickly (less than 5 seconds from hitting the “print” option on the app). There is a recent review as of this writing that complains that the printing is very slow, but I would guess that is a local software or connection problem, and not a problem with the printer, unless the unit is defective in some way.All in all very pleased with the footprint (it sits with room to spare on a 20″ X 10″ side table top), ease of use, functionality, quality, and value.Update 7-18-2023: Still a good, compact, reliable printer for light use and basic tasks. But I have it directly connected and dedicated to a single desktop computer, so I can’t comment on the WiFi issues. I must modify my initial statement about how quickly it prints text – my first pages were MS-Word documents, and it worked flawlessly and fast. Printing text from PDF files is much slower, about 45 to 60 seconds per page. So not a printer I would recommend for high volume PDF file printing.

    You cannot beat this printer
I’ve used this 6 months now so I feel I can give it a quality review. I am using this as a work from home printer that I could use sparingly. I ordered the blue which took a bit longer shipping but was worth it as it is a nice ocean blue color. TLDR version: this printer hasn’t given me a single problem, connected to my wifi in minutes, and anyone connected to my wifi can easily print from their phone.I didn’t have any issues setting it up. It was fast and easy. I never needed support, connected to wifi quickly and then my phone was connected to it like that. Anything from my phone I wanted to print, was done quickly. Ink is cheap, so if you aren’t doing this for a business invisible ink seems pointless. It took 6 months before I bought a new cartridge but all our uses are different. It also scans, and faxes(which I wasn’t sure if it did at the time) and it’s really easy. It’s done from a tray on top, separate from where printer paper is located, and you can access from the app and save those documents to PDF, fax, or any number of things.I’ve had friends come over with different phones, connect to my wifi, and print no problem from their phones. I haven’t had any troubleshooting, and for the price of this model and it’s convenient size I feel like it’s a steal. Was expecting so many problems after reading reviews and I’ve had zero. Great product that makes things super easy from your phone.

a shinier, sleeker pile of garbage
The nicest thing I can say about this is that it is a more compact piece of [junk].This is the thing with new devices, right? They look so much sleeker and sexier and more futuristic than “outdated” technology. My old MFD was an ugly, hulking monstrosity. However, all I had to do to use it was plug it into a power source and plug it into my computer and off we go on our merry way. It. Worked. This takes up possibly less than a quarter of the desk space and looks much nicer. You want to connect to it? Use the wireless direct network. Once you’re connected, it will launch an app offering you a variety of services you never wanted, because all you want is to print a [redacted] checklist for an upcoming trip. You want to print, you have to connect to the internet. You connect to the internet, you are disconnected from your printer. Go ahead, try using the virtual assistant. Half an hour later, you will still be staring at the “One moment while I get read to chat” message. What is it exactly that a chatbot has to prepare for remains a mystery. It’s okay, though, because you can also connect with your cell phone! All you have to do is download another app. Create another account. Give HP that sweet, sweet lucrative personal data. Get pressured yet. again. to sign up for their ink subscription service.Jesus, I miss my old monstrosity. Ugly, simple, and functional. Like that one type of person each of us has dated at some point, the HP DeskJet 3755 Compact All-in-One Wireless Printer is an attractive, useless disaster. It exists to make the things in your life that once were simple into an unending nightmare, while simultaneously trying to maximize the value it can leech out of you. I have not yet succeeded in printing a single thing. It’s like the sleeker companies make the product design, the more of a nightmare the UX is.Edit: Finally ordered a cable–separately (remember when printers actually came with the cables you need to connect them to a computer?). Got the printer to work.Print quality is low and you can print maybe fifteen pages on each fresh toner cartridges. Apparently, HP’s zeal for manipulating you into their ink subscription service is so avid that they’re more than happy to maximize the amount of hazardous waste generated by an endless series of ridiculously undersized toner cartridges. WHAT IS THIS, A TONER CARTRIDGE FOR ANTS?

Perfect printer! It’s so easy to use and it’s compact so doesn’t take up too much space. I was worried about set up as some of the reviews mentioned it was hard, but I had nothing to worry about it was super easy! As long as you’re decent with technology you shouldn’t have a problem. The scanning was easy too. Also I love that you can print and scan documents directly from your phone as well. 10/10 would recommend this printer to anyone I don’t have a bad thing to say about it.

Great little printer. We have an HP8720 which is great for scanning, and has all the features. I just need one by my work table to print out patterns and notes. I almost didn’t buy it because of the reports about set up problems, plus my aggravating experience setting up the HP8720. The price was too good to pass up. Set Up took 3 minutes and I am happily printing away. It is perfect for my needs.I declined the “so called” 4 month “instant ink” offer, which turned out to be 2 months. There is no free ink as some people seem to think. The prices quoted are for 10 sheets a month. Read the fine print!! Opting out is dicey! Once again, read the fine print!

Let me preface this by saying I’m a pretty tech-savvy person. I don’t usually need to use manuals when it comes to things like printers or other computer peripheral devices, because usually they’re very simple and easy to sort out on their own. But setting up the wireless connection on this printer (as well as the HP Instant Ink feature) was a lot more painful than it should have been. I think most of my issues were a result of this printer only being able to connect to 2.4GHz wifi networks – it cannot connect to 5GHz wifi networks. Luckily I have a router that broadcasts both types. Next, none of the connection instructions worked for me – following the instructions in the manual did not work. I had to watch several videos and even then, those instructions didn’t seem to work either. Finally, I had to download some sort of “Printer Doctor” software from the HP website and I had to plug the printer into my computer with a printer cable, and only then could I connect to the printer. On top of all this, the next time I turned on the printer, I had to go through the ENTIRE PROCESS all over again because it was like my computer forgot the printer – it was still listed in my printer devices section, but had the “Offline” status and was not able to print. So now I just leave the printer on (I think it goes into a power-saving/standby mode after awhile) so that hopefully I don’t have to repeat all this again. But aside from these issues, the printer itself works well when connected and the print quality is great. Hopefully you have better luck connecting it than I did, because it really is a great printer!

While I can appreciate how lightweight and compact this unit is, this is literally the WORST printer I’ve ever bought. Printing takes forever and scanning can only be done one page at a time. Connecting the printer to WIFI was an absolute atrocity and it just barely worked when connecting it to my computer directly via USB.I thought I might just not be able to figure out technology (cue midlife crisis), but the tech support that remoted into my laptop couldn’t even figure it out. The printer was showing as ready, but the drivers would always show as unavailable, despite uninstalling and reinstalling both driver and printer on my laptop MULTIPLE times and having it connected to my laptop via USB (we’d given up on wireless connection completely by that point).I ended up fighting with it for an entire two days before caving and buying a Canon Pixma all-in-one. It took me all of two minutes and zero aspirin to set up.I have returned this product and will likely never buy another HP printer again. Don’t let the price fool you; this printer is absolute trash.
