    Good.
The sound starts to distort pretty hard when you crank the volume (80+%), but these are loud enough and very clean if you keep it below 70-ish% volume, which is absolutely plenty unless you’re using these for a TV. (I maybe hit 30% with them on my computer, and I have no need to go louder)Subwoofer is spectacular, no complaints there.Klipsch is a big name for a reason, these are really good for the price. Great sound quality, plenty loud, and they feel well put together.

    BEST SPEAKERS
I used these old 2004 speakers for my PC and I was looking for an affordable upgrade so I looked everywhere for a good deal I couldn’t find anything but then I found these gems. The base is VERY POWERFUL almost as good and maybe even better than the 1000-watt movie theater blueray system I have downstairs, it goes deep and has a custom dial to turn it up and down. Sometimes it can sound messy but it is honestly AMAZING for $115. The mids are full unlike other speakers I tried, and the highs are good but sometimes are a little lacking compared to the other stuff but like everything else it’s AMAZING for the price. I agree with the comments that say it’s absolutely perfect for gaming and movies but only just good for music it’s not the best out there but for 115 wow it’s worth it, especially if you like the base in music like I do. I also saw a few people having issues with the speakers over time because apparently the components inside a little cheaper due to the age (10y+) but I pray nothing happens and these speakers stay amazing. 10/10 recommend

    Thunderous
I just got this and Installed it on my wife’s computer. Will say that it is Thunderous. Her office is in an aprox 14’x12′ room. So it really fills it with sound. She had a real old cheap 5 speaker system that I had kept fixing and tinkering with. Basic $ 50 sound system with splices in the wires and basic crap. She wanted something better. The old one had a hum and buzz at times. So I started to investigate something better. I kept looking at this one but also others. For us, a 5 speaker system was kind of impracticable because we have 3 cats and they have beds on top of her cabinets/filing cabinets…etc. So placement would have been an issue. But, I kept coming back to this one. I’m 57 and Klip has always been a better product and good quality. So, I bought it. You have to remember at times… you get what you pay for and cheaper is usually what you get….This is a really nice Plug and Play speaker system. Great sound quality. Really good Bass, Deep and loud if you want it that way. The satellites produce a very nice sound and are well above what I think you would need. Here are a couple of things I found out about it I wanted to mention. Each Satellite speaker has about 8 ft. of wire to attach to the subwoofer. So placement is a factor or you will have to splice onto the existing wire to extend it, which I did not want to and did not in the end.The main wiring harness has EVERYTHING you need to run this. And this will save you $10 to know this. Nowhere did I find in the description or reviews did I see that the 1/8 headphone wire plug is included. So I ended up buying one thinking it is not included….it IS included. This entire system is Plug and Play. The main wiring harness off of the subwoofer is about 6ft long to reach your computer, then about 8 ft. of wire to each speaker. If your computer desk is basically uncluttered and organized….LOL, not my wife. Then this is a no-brainer 10 min max install. Mine took me about 30 min to get through and around some of her crap to hide the wires and make it look “tidy”.Also, the control module is connected to the main wire harness and it splits off of it so it lays on your desk for volume and base. If I were to “knock” this in any way it would be the module. Its made to be either mounted under a shelf (no hardware / clip provided) or laid on the desktop. If it’s laid on the desk the words are upside down. Volume and Bass. separate control knobs. But that is really ticky tac and will be easily learned. There is a headphone and a mic jack on the module. I got the headphones to work well but did not test the mic jack. She doesn’t have one. One note on the headphone jack that I found was that if you use the headphone jack you may have to increase the volume up a bit. So remember that when you pull out the headphones….you may get “hit” with a Thunderous wall of sound because the sound was turned up for the headphones…not the speaker system. All in all, we are pleasantly surprised and happy with it. It offers superior sound and quality at an affordable price. Would not hesitate to buy another if the need requires it or if somebody asked.

    Very good deal, but…
My Altec Lansing speakers finally died (how come so many reviews start that way?). For the record, a pair of satellites and a subwoofer, Model BX1121, that I bought for about $15 more years ago than I remember. Ah, the good old days, when Altec was putting out great computer speakers at affordable prices. Last week, I finally blew the right speaker.Along came “Amazon Days”, or whatever the name is that some VP’s niece in the Marketing Department came up with, and these “Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System (Black)” went on sale for just over a hundred bucks. Perfect timing. Ordered them very late a couple nights ago. They arrived during supper, and I set them up immediately thereafter.Setup took about ten minutes, even though the “Owner’s Manual” is little more than a few pages of cartoon characters. Probably written by a close relative of the aforementioned niece – and I bet they both went to the same state college, with maybe internships at the George Dubya Bush Library,, which is rumored to be full of half-finished coloring books.Anyways, setup was pretty smooth. Took maybe 10 minutes, tops, from opening the box to cleaning up. These things are a lot heavier than the old’ Altecs. Especially the large subwoofer. And since there are no clear instructions, just make sure you put the cords with the red stripes in the red holes and you should be OK.I only gave these 4 Stars because a) there’s always a better deal somewhere, and b) they are not ‘green’. My rating had nothing to do with the paucity of creativity in the VP’s family.NEGATIVES (in addition to the ‘Owner’s Manual’)1) The packaging is mostly styrofoam and is not enviro-friendly.2) The cardboard box is larger than is needs to be, wasting trees.3) There is no ON/OFF switch. These things are either puggled in and ON, or they’re unplugged and OFF. This is a waste of either electricity or effort, depending on whether one takes the time to unplug them or not when the system is not in use.POSITIVES1) The cords are pretty long. If size matters, you should be good. If it’s only about the angle, then the extra cabling is both a waste of plastic and metal (again, not green) and you will have a rat’s nest behind the components. Over all, probably a positive.2) The 3.5 standard audio jack input connector makes connecting to a laptop or desktop PC a snap. Well, if you hear a snap, you did something wrong, so let’s just say it “makes it easy”. Be aware that this (or an adapter for it) is the ONLY way to output sound to this system.3) These components seem to be solid and well-built. At least on the outside. I did not notice any defects in craftsmanship.4) Inside the carton, everything was packed well and protected by plenty of plastic.5) And now and in closing, my take on the sound quality. I’m going with Excellent at this price point ($100 during the Amazon sale or $149 direct from Klipsch). Remember, I’m going from ancient, albeit beloved, Altec Lansings with 4 watts per satellite and 20 watts total max/peak power to these rascals, with 35 peak watts on the satellites, 130 watts on the subwoofer, and 200-260 max./peak power (the specs and descriptions on Amazon state two different numbers, so I’m guessing a third family member was involved, probably the family techie; Klipsch web site says 260 watts). While the wife was outside watering the garden, I checked this new system out with “Roadhouse Blues” by the Doors, “Running on Empty” by Mr. Jackson Browne, a live version of “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC, “No Matter What” by Badfinger, “Hounddog” by the one-of-a-kind Big Mama Thornton, and “Why I Sing the Blues” and “Hummingbird” by the late, great B. B. King. If you don’t know those songs or artists, I feel almost as sorry for you as I do for my retired Altecs. But the Altecs couldn’t help it.The sound on all of these tracks was excellent. I didn’t dare to turn the volume up to even 1/3 power because the wife has excellent hearing and dislikes all of the above songs. I would have been sleeping in the garage tonight. I wouldn’t have minded, but the Klipsch are still experiencing separation anxiety. Even at very low settings on both the laptop and the speaker system, these things put out plenty of noise. Tomorrow, the minute she’s out the door, I shall test the claim of ‘110 decibels’. Not that I’m afraid of her, of course.Recommended. Buy these. Definitely worth a hundred bucks, at least at first blush.

Seems like good quality speakers for non-audiophile ears. Nice build quality to everything and they sound a lot better than my old logitech speakers. Both speakers are interchangeable as your left and right speaker and the controls are removable which can be pretty convenient for setup.I will definitely repeat the complaint that the LED Power indicator is just obnoxiously bright. It’s lit as long as the speaker set is plugged in, no way to turn it off. Forget about it lighting up a bedroom in the dark, I found in uncomfortable just having this LED in the corner of my vision in a fully lit room. If you can go a week without taping over the LED then you have stronger eyes than I do.
