Read about swamp coolers before buying
Swamp coolers will not work to the extent that an air conditioner will. It just can’t. We live in Washington State. So far we’ve had 93F as the highest since we got the swamp cooler and it’s helped.It’s a lot of work to get it to work but it does help. People worried about moisture shouldn’t worry too much. We close the windows and add ice or the ice packs that come with it. We also use cold water from the fridge. Keep constantly adding ice. That along with other stuff like closing all windows once the sunlight hits our windows and having fans circulating air, helps keep one room cooler. Not cold. But cool enough. Ice works better than the ice packs that come with it but it melts faster. We use a combination of ice, ice packs, and cold water from the fridge.If you have more money get a swamp cooler with thicker pads. The pads get wet from the water and ice, and as the air passes through the pads it cools the air. So the thicker the pads the cooler the air. This one is as loud as a box fan since that’s what’s making the noice, a fan in the swamp cooler.We are anticipating needing an air conditioner once we start hitting 100F+. It just doesn’t seem like it will do much at those temperatures. We’ll see. But for now the swamp cooler is enough and keeps electricity bills down compared to an air conditioner.

Does Not Work As Described
I live in Seattle, Washington where the Spring and Summer are getting warmer, so in good faith after reading other reviews, bought this hoping it would help. I don’t have a window that would allow me for a window unit air conditioner, so this is my last resort. Well after a few tries not only did this not cool the air down, but it actually showed on the thermostat that it was getting warmer inside. I definitely had it on the core mode have the icebox inside make sure there was enough water, and still did not bring me relief that I thought it would. I simply use it now on fan mode, but this was a waste of my money and I wish I can get it back. Extremely disappointed.

Keeps a small room cool
I got a replacement for an old one that didn’t cool my room and it worked great, I spilled some water when it overflowed but the replacement can keep a small room cool enough especially with the ice packs that it comes with, it is very convenient that it comes with two pairs so I can switch them out when one melts

Very disappointed and frustrated
I ordered my original unit for a small guest bedroom back in May. I live in Los Angeles and we had cool weather until late June so I didn’t get to try the unit out until after the 30-day window to return. I followed the directions to a “T”. The output of cool air was very weak. Less cooling than a regular fan. I contacted the company via email. They asked me a list of questions over several email exchanges about whether I followed the directions precisely, which I did. Finally, they said they would send me another unit which arrived today (about a week-and-a-half later). Today was another hot day. I prepared the unit (water, ice packs), turned it on and the unit read the temperature in the room as 80-degrees. I came back into the room after 2-hours and the room was still 80-degrees. It was also now very humid and “musty”. Disappointed because I was really hoping that this unit would make the room for comfortable for guests. But, now, I just have to put a fan back in there. Because the second unit operated just like the first, I have to give a low grade. Two stars because Customer Service was responsive but, honestly, I just would like my money back. And, I have no idea where I’m going to store these units.

Good product
Good product, it cools down my small bedroom. I did lose the drain cover though and was wondering if the seller would sell that small part to me. I can’t get it to work without it and this summer is brutal!
